and then buy them.
Money talks, and until everyone makes a stance agianst these garbage PPV's sky are fleecing us for they'll continue to do so. the winner of Saturdays fight could well command PPV status from now until, well, for a long time.
Groves Vs De Gale - £15
The week before
Man U Vs Chelsea, premiership decider, free.
The week after
Barcelona Vs Manchester United, champions league final, free.
Get it up you Sky,and all who sail... errm.. upon you.
All I need to do now is lock myself in my bedroom trainspotting stylee and not buy the bloody thing.

I usually have a moan and then buy the ppv's, but this time there is no way i'll pay, forget the hype, it's just two prospects fighting for a british title, no way this should be box office, not when they are giving us PAC v Mosely etc for free! I think they are going to get really bad figures for this, where i work there are probably half a dozen lads that will pay for fights and they have all said they won't pay this time around.

cant agree more - i wrote about pay per view ages ago, is it not enough that we pay for the whole sky sports package which isnt cheap and then asked to shell out 15 quid for a british title fight ,which i feel should be part of my sky package otherwise im paying for it twice.Whats next mitchell v murray a good domestic match up for 15 quid?
Wales makes a good point about the football but sky tried it on with that when they introduced the 'season ticket 'which was again another charge on top of subscription but that soon ended when setanta then espn entered the market and it was scrapped, as people can see it for what it was, i dont pay sky 40 0dd quid to watch second rate football matches i pay to watch the best the same for boxing- of course many fight addicts will succomb and buy it but just like the football fans who turn up week in week out they know they've got you by the short and curlies but i for one hope that sky take note learn from khan/mccloskey, now cleverley and give fight fans the same quality of viewing as they do football fans

If Sky learned anything from Khan-McCloskey its that punters will still stump up £15 for a straight forward headline, supported by a weak card, on an obscure channel that does no HD. All the talk after the fight was of the suprisingly high number of buys the fight did, so Sky are unlikely to turn their nose up at a PPV night again in the near future. Especially given the costs they've already committed to the promotion.

Sky are a disgrace with what they are doing to the British boxing fan, I cancelled my full subscription this week based on the unfair extra chargers we have to pay to watch second rate fights. My bill was over £80 a month

They think of boxing fans as the biggest mugs of all the sports fans. Unfortunately, time and time again they are proved to be absolutely right. They must have a good laugh over their champagne at how every time we get shafted we come running back for more.

I cancelled my sky subscription ages ago, and have no intentions of ever getting it again. I'm with Virgin, and I am not going to add Sky's channels. I'll watch internet streams, or watch the fight online the next day, rather than get mugged off like that.
It's getting to the point where any fight of any consequence is PPV now.
I think that the fighters must take some blame also - if they weren't so greedy for big paydays, the promoters wouldn't need PPV.
