I see he's fighting on a pro-am card at Hilton Brighton Metropole on June 11th.
Two questions
Is he fighting am or turning pro and Is he any good?

Well it's a step up from scrapping in multi-storey car parks.
Seriously though, from what I heard, like his dad he went off to America to learn the ropes, was trained by Mike McCallum I think and isn't at all bad from what I've read.
He'll have to go some to beat his old man though eh!

I read he won a regional golden gloves a couple of years ago but then got beat in his first fight at the national golden gloves in the states.

Don't know, sorry mate.
Last I heard he was competing in the 69–75kg class so I guess it will be Middle/Super Middleweight

Be interesting to see whether he goes pro in a blaze of publicity with the risk of people whinging and writing him off if he isn't challenging for a world title by his tenth fight or if the Hearns decide to keep their powder dry for a while.

There seemed a heavy implication that Groves had had a hard time! And I don't see how that benefitted the show......

Come on, that show was corny and massively staged. Groves being deep in thought after the spar doesn't mean anyone got bashed.

When he was a teenager with 10 amateur fights he apparently went 50/50 in a war with Zab Judah sparring. That, if true, is abit ill, and sick, too.

It's funny - twenty years ago Chris Eubank said he'd break his son's arm rather than see him become a boxer. He didn't want him following his footsteps in the "mug's game".

Chris Eubank (senior) is an attention seeker. He wants the limelight, and now it has faded on him I guess he seeks reflected glory through his son....I am surmising

Yeah, it was absolutely implied in the behind the ropes bit, but it's not hard to imagine Booth and Groves both being complicit in allowing it to be put across that way in order to give Degale some kind of false sense of security, get him feeling more complacent than he already is. Eubank's kid gets a boost to boot, everybody wins.
I think if Groves really had gotten bashed up, we wouldn't have been privy to any of it.

My dad told me last christmas that my first manager Adonis Torres told him just 3 weeks after i entered the boxing gym for the first time that i might be a future world champion , this was 2 or 3 months before i even had the courage to get in the ring, i never knew this until my dad told me at christmas. Adonis sadly passed away last yr and thats just more determination for me to make him proud, to become world champion. Adonis was the first person i was ever able to trust, in my life, i remember i couldn't afford the gym fees at first but he let me work as a cleaner there and allowed me to join in. Listen, I will be world champion, or they'd have to carry me out trying."
