Last night's result looks impressive. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get to see the fight - was his performance as good as the result suggests?

It was shaping up to be a good fight by the looks of things. Shame how it ended though.

Howard Foster stopped the fight in round 1. Very controversially. Check out the Howard Foster f*&kin clown thread.

It was a cracking first round! Doran came out looking to unload but Maxwell kept a tight guard and looking to really dig in massive shots, one landed and Doran went down early and looked shaky but recovered well getting on his toes and getting combinations going but every now and then a hard shot from Maxwell would land and seem to have affect. Maxwell threw a big one and landed Doran again looked hurt but threw in desperation to keep Maxwell off and connected with a beauty that took Maxwell's legs momenterally, Maxwell went back against the ropes and took 2/3 punches max when Foster prematurely dived in. A rematch wouldn't go amiss!!

It's a shame for Maxwell the guy really deserved a proper title shot.

Len woodhall asked for a rematch and we got told absolutly not.The real controvesy for me is that Doran got a count when he hadnt gone down (watch closely on tape) and it stopped max following up when he was badley hurt and gave him valuble recovery time.

After all the sh*t Maxwell has had from referees, politics, bad decisions etc it wouldn't surprise me if he quits the game, it must be so disheartening for him. Really hope he doesn't
