I've never been a Booth fan at all but tonight I thought he really made the difference in that fight. Macdonnell was out-coached. Great gameplan.

Agreed. I was really impressed with him and Groves. Not just the game plan and the intelligence, but also the closeness of their relationship. They are a very good team.

It makes me wonder if I'm being naive about thinking Haye has little chance against Wlad.

I have to agree, I thought it was going to be the wrong gameplan early on but thought the cards were spot on, well done George and Adam!!

I was always said that Haye had the tools to beat Wlad.
But I think that we can all rest assured that Booth has a gameplan for his stable star come July 2nd.

Totally agree great plan - carried out by his fighter and he is so calm in the corner - he is clearly a lot better than many give him credit for (me included) - He has grown in my
estimation and I would say now he has to be rated right up there with the best in Britain, I would love to see him with some of our better boxers and see where he could take them

Booth is a class act. Masterplan tonight. Mc donell made a cock of himself at the presser, jumping up with de gale and getting all giddy about the bet.

I'm not sure how much credit you can give Booth for that fight.

Degale threw it away as much as anything, imo

Good tactics from Booth, but made for a poor fight I thought. From what little action there was, I gave the edge to Degale. At least 4 rounds had virtually no action.

I don't need to see that again to be honest.

Degale thought being the home fighter meant he wa ssafe. Bet he wouldn have fought like that on a Hayemaker bill

I'm in the camp of those who think he is one of Britain's best trainer. Him and Robert McCracken always seem to give good calm advice. Whenever Booth gets interviewed I always find myself thinking the man talks 100% sense about everything. He pimped Enzo Maccarinelli before and he has pimped Jimmy Mac tonight as it seemed a bit personal between the trainers on both occasions.

Jim McDonnell will get you fit, and that's it

I'm really pleased for Booth, I remember when he was starting out with Haye he used to get constant shit from a lot of oldguard trainers, like Chris Aston who used to train Mark Hobson. Same again with McDonnell. The reality is he's a level above that calibre of coach, Haye has proven that and now Groves tonight compounds it.

Never gonna happen but Degale could do a lot worse than becoming Groves's stablemate. He certainly needs a great trainer like Booth.

I'm not sure if I'm interpreting this the way it happened, but there was a moment which stayed with me watching Booth in the corner. In the break before the 12th, it looked as though Dave C was about to reel off some advice to Groves but was cut short by Booth, who then told Groves to relax and breathe.

I thought that was bang on, there wasn't any point in talking tactics, Groves was looking shattered, and that was exactly what he needed, calm and focus. He then went out with that and had a very respectable 12th.

I could be reading into things that aren't there, but that made me take notice.

i noticed that aswell...great performance by groves and boothe ven if i had the fight level im glad george won.

The sight of de gale being a typical chav with his chavvy mates was enough to make me want anyone to beat him.

I really rate Booth, and I think Haye has the tools to do the job, but I crack up every time i think about that clip, wish I could find a link...
