DeGale ran rather than be interviewed. The buture's fright.

Keeping up his reputation for oozing class.

And he didn't acknowledge Groves at the end when he came over to him.

Booed into the ring and out of it. I dearly hope he is the next Audley. He's clearly not gonna pull in the punters on his own.

He just lost to his bigest rival woould you want a camera in your face after that?

But you can still give credit to your opponent. It's just being respectful and showing good manners.

Indeed. He'd have won some fans then. At the minute he'd struggle to fill a 4X4 in his own right.

He could have sat and given his view on the scores, talk up a rematch etc.

But give Groves some due respect. Afterall he predicted a KO win inside 4 rounds.

Correct. The buture is not very fright if he keeps his attitude.

R5L grabbed hold of him afterwards. He twice said that the decision was "bullshit".

Twat.

Who could blame him? He's being laughed out of Britain after all the crap he talked prior to the fight.

Sorry James, you ain't all that.

Most fighters give an interview after the fight no matter what happens. The amount of bollocks he spouted before the bout, it's embarrassing that he ran from the interview after it.

Wasn't even a clear cut win for Groves. So close and could have easily gone the other way, and DeGale could have easily debated the decision.

But credit where it is due, 29/31 in the profession gave it to Degale beforehand. I thought that was amazingly harsh on Groves. Bookies were equally clueless. Got 4/1 on GG and lumped a score on. Great night.

you guys talk some shit ricky hatton didnt give interviews for days after he lost to pac and didnt give a ringside interview against floyd either.

The guy lost a close decision. He clearly had world class talent but didnt have the experience, know how or corner men to tell him how to adapt to groves tactics. degale is an 11 fight novice if you are writting him off already you must be fools.

Bollocks m8, you're the one talking shit.

I know Hatton gave an interview in the ring after Mayweather cos he said "it was going fine till I slipped" -- Yes, it was a joke for those of you who missed it. He then went on to apologize for his fans saying he felt he'd let them down.

I didn't see the aftermath of Pac, but given he was KTFO, I'd not be surprised if he was sent immediately to the nearest hospital and most likely the TV guys would have acknowledged that.

my bad - either way mr 2 posts - you're still turning a blind eye to the fact it took nearly a week for hatton to give an on camera statement after the pac fight.

Leading up to the fight, DeGale said a few times he'd be happy to shake Groves' hand afterwards, I don't think he considered losing a possibility.

Nice comeback with the personal insult (did you not learn from tonight that verbal barbs don't always work?)...., don't care how many posts you've made if they're all as badly considered as the previous one.

I wouldn't waste the time interacting with him Moose as based on my recent experiences with him all he can manage to do is come up with personal insults mixed with factual inaccuracies that illustrate how little he actually knows.
Kingfinn, glad to see you're keeping up your recent trend of making yourself look like a muppet on here :TU:

DeGale talked shit but hardly in the class of what Ali called Frazier. And comparing DeGale to 'A-Force' (sure thats slang for anal rape) is daft, he showed more against Smigga than Harrison has in any fight. But still Audley deserves respect for the Olympic gold medal, I'm just sorry he killed boxing on the BBC

Marvin Hagler gave an interview after the decision went against him against Ray Leonard. They took his title of 7 years.

Now compare that with DeGale...... Actually you cant. He behaved like an child throughout the prefight build up and then boxed like an amatuer for most of it. Then he behaved like a child after it by sulking.

Actually I should apologise to The Great Marvelous Marvin Hagler now, for even mentioning James DeGale in the same post.

Thats the problem. People were going on the Paul Smith fight. Smith is much smaller then Groves. He is a small Middleweight and as gutsy as he is I do think he is overrated by a lot of people.

DeGale could do exactly as he pleased against Smith.

It was never going to be like that against Groves.

Yeah I dont recall any fighter in history giving an interview whilst unconcious!

He actually uttered something unbroadcastable to the BBC Radio 5 Live guy.

Obviously lacking in the class department, but to be fair to him, his ego does have its own postcode & he had just experienced a bruising of that said ego.

I clearly remember Hatton being interviewed on sky sports news the day after the fight at his pool party at the hotel. He wasn't interviewed straight after the fight due to the fact that he was in no state to be interviewed (as anyone who watched him on his side for 2 mins with eyes in back of head could tell you).

You are clearly struggling to try and defend a guy who's behaviour has not been acceptable.

John Simpson a few weeks ago spoke to sky straight after a fight in which he thought (justifiably imo) he'd just been robbed for about the 4th time in his career.

That is an excellent point. DeGale is still an excellent boxer with an Olympic Gold medal but he is not in the same league as a man like John Simpson in sportmanship, class and respect.
