We may not all agree on the result and also the value of the PPV but there were some major pluses to come out of the Degale Groves bout;

1) Both Degale and Groves looked in condition and managed to go the 12 round distance early on in their career
2) The result was razor thin doing little damage to eithers career
3) Both now have experience of being involved in big fight, which so early in their career is invaluble. All the TV interviews, the hype, the behind the ropes cameras, the weigh in and the crowd. When they are ready for world titles all this experiene will help immensly
4) Both endured tough training camps which no doubt they can build on
5) George Groves had a lot of support - he could start building a sizeable fan base
6) The fight, although essentially between to rookie pro's garnerd a lot of interest in the press and captured the publics interest which proves that rivalries are great for the sport

Overall, whilst I can't agree with it being on Pay Per View I think that it was a decent main event, and the O2 had a really good atmosphere.

One thing I noticed that I thought was a nice touch was allegedly's brother making a point of going up to Adam Booth and shaking his hand as Booth was going back to the changing rooms. Booth was then congratulated by a number of fans waiting around at the end.

At the beginning of his career the boxing community were sceptical about Booth, but to be fair to him, he is proving to be a good trainer who is doing it his way.

One thing I'd say for Groves is that he's always had good and vocal support, I remember his fans nearly taking the roof of the York Hall in his Amateur days. Totally agree with your comments about Booth also, he's done his reputation no harm whatsoever.

Forget the ppv being a con the ticket prices were well over the top. One decent fight for 200 quid!

Yes I was there. But when I booked there was the two main fights plus a good undercard promised which never came. Then braehmer pulls out! Learned my lesson no more warren shows!

Out of interest, were there any touts outside ?

If so, were the tickets going for more or less than face value ? I nearly went down there on a whim, but wasn't sure what I would have had to pay.

Not sure about touts, but I ended up with 4 spare tickets after mates pulled out. Sold them on an Internet auction site and ended up losing about 40 quid on what I'd paid, so I'd be surprised if anyone sold them for more than fv.
