After seeing the furore surrounding the Groves vs Degale fight, then the subsequent 10,000 news reports on it... with maybe the last paragraph about Clev, really does show that domestic showdowns are at least on par with big world title fights in the British public's eyes, if not bigger.

For too long promoters have hid their fighter away from a rival's fighter - denying us the chance to see great fights unfold.

But that's a mistake in my eyes. Even the loser gets unpresidented exposure.

Take Audley vs Haye, now Degale vs Groves - they destroyed the box office records for recent other PPV events with our fighters against non-brits.

I'm sure hayemaker are very pleased to have been successful in both, but final result aside, I for one was really glad this fight came off and hopefully will see Barker vs Macklin added to Fury vs Chisora, Murray vs Mitchell.

Then maybe homecoming fights for Froch, Haye etc too.

Clev v Bellew would have been a much bigger fight than the Polish labourer they found on a building site in Heathrow, one of those v Enzo Macc will generate plenty of interest too.

Tsk Tsk the guy came to fight which was fair enough and was stopped by a unfortunate cut early- Clev and Bellew will happen - dont think itll be a "duel" more one sided mismatch but you never know.

Yez Gomez lets see more of these- they are more interesting that world title fights for me - just not on PPV!
