Cameron just posted that he lost a close, hard fight, credit to Ochieng and hes now taking a break after 2 solid years as a pro. 'Gutted but I'll be back'

To much emphasis is put on an unbeaten record, losing a fight can make a boxer realise what they have to do to improve and move on in their career.

Bad matchmaking ,Cameron and Smedley shouldn't have been in those fights both got exposed tonight.Both need to get another trainer he obviously has no idea what fights to take for his fighters.

yeah obviously it would of helped their careers to of had a couple of Latvian lemmings instead. Both boxers lost close competitive fights against good opposition, nothing wrong with that. Its how Cameron and Smedley react to the losses that counts.

Its pro boxing u gotta get everything right, it could been a few things I just had baby girl week ago but no excuse I lost close fight also had point taken

The lightmiddleweight division is hotting up. And liam will have many oppertunities he's only 20. Who knows what can happen Erick v Liam for a world Title... long way to go for both of these fighters but it's exiting. They should of showed the fight on Sky

I agree we should match all prospects against journeymen with no wins then the can get their records up to 100-0!!!!!

Well done to Liam, Erick, Nikki & Nigel for welcoming tough match ups I am sure that the losers can rebuild.

second unbeaten record he has taken. So to understand Ochieng defeated Liam Cameron and Curtis Valentine, Lost to Luke Robinson who got knocked out by Valentine. Valentine also lost to Alistair Warren who is 7-1. This is 5 good very exciting fighters. All of whom have lost their unbeaten tag early due to them taking on challenges. Maybe this is a crying out for a Prizefighter to separate them. Add in a prospect in Tom Doran, and unbeaten youngster in Phill Fury and a returning boxer such as Tony Doherty then you have a very very good prizefighter line up with everyone hungry. Not just that they could use a program profiling the history between all the boxers. Have a match between fury and Valentine, and Doherty and Doran. This way you link in saying all the fighters have a history with one another. Makes it enthralling viewing. C'mon Eddie Hearn, Make it Happen

only thing is it may not jump out in appeal to joe casual , i understand exactly what your saying and would watch it myself , i think it would be intriguing and dont know who id pick to win it but just on a sellability issue that i dont think it would happen , maybe if they can all get another 3 or 4 wins first then i think it would be good , funnilly enough the only one ive not paid any attention to really is Phill fury , and he may be actually the most well known to joe public .

Thats why i was suggesting the sky doing a 30 minute profile/documentary on each fighter. Wouldnt cost big budget, just a camera in their gym. Couple of interviews, camera at their home interview, highlight reel of previous fights, talking heads and a clip of their fight against the other guy in the competition. Guaranteed ratings lol

I agree; learning in a losing fight has to be better, as a boxer, than a blow out win.

I disagree; Smedley did well v Wright who is a top rung domestic boxer; Nigel is a class act and Smedley showed class, fitness and a good attitude. He weren't out of place in there and he can learn from the bout; he weren't smashed about. Liam Cameron can come again, no doubt. Boxing is a tough sport and business and far too much emphasis and importance is put on a perfect record. In the real world a learning loss will be better than an import blow out.

no i understand what he means here what had they done who had they fought in order to ready them for there fights last night i cant comment on the ochieng fight because i had never seen him. But the wright fight who had smedley fought in order to ready him for such a schooled and seasoned fighter? i can imagine he looks a million dollars in the gym but nigel is a top top domestic fighter and fighting the likes of bheki mayo wont ready you for him. i know he performed well and sometimes you have to take the opportunities given but hows about pitching them in with 70/30 80/20 fights to prepare them instead of fighting a 0-20-1 lad wehen your 12-0 no one to blame apart from the matchmaker/promoter for me sometimes you have to speculate to accumalate

The Wright fight was a gamble Billy, but it hardly backfired did it? No disgrace in that defeat and I bet Smedley learnt more from that than all his other fights put together - means he'll potentially come back stronger and it's perfectly plausible he'll avenge that defeat further down the line. I applaud him and his team for taking the match.

yeah. smedley needed a test. he was looking better as the fight went on for me. No shame in that defeat at all.
