Who on here can actually box? Or has had any ring fights? Or does a martial art? Or has never had a fight at all and is just an arm chair fan? Anyone got any amateur footage on You Tube or anything?

I am an amateur boxer. 9 fights. I have also done jujutsu, karate, judo and tae kwon do :) I have footage of my amateur fights but not stuck them up to youtube as that will give any amateur opponent an advantage over me if he finds them

I can box. not well. I do it for fitness, and to get an appreciation of how hard it is to do when I watch it on TV.

On a side note, i went to the big yellow box storage company yesterday and in the office they said ask staff on lessons to box.

I boxed a bit (badly) as a schoolboy. Have been meaning to go back to the gym as I love the training but doubt I'll step in the ring for a fight again.

I was a poor mans (bankrupt mans!) Donald Curry in my youth and late teens till I saw the light and started the drink, women and drugs; all the way to Palookaville :(

as a youth i sparred with kevin lear ,steve murray,gary steadman,and all the boy's at west ham boxing club then when i got older i sparred with my brothers garry & mark in prep for some of there fights i also sparred with julius francis, bruce scott, micky steeds, ovil mckenzie, eric teymor, elvis mihailenko, john mcdermott, and i've even sparred johnny greaves a couple of times

I was Staffs County and NABC West Mids champion for a couple years on the bounce in my teens.

I had 5 amateur fights, 3-2 , wasn't dedicated to training.

I can't see why I would be hated?! I don't do anything to annoy people........in fact I have started some half-decent original threads.

I could try to explain but I'm not an expert; it all gets a bit 'through the looking glass' for me.

If you're a relative of the poster, say 'hello', he made me laugh properly more than once though when he was on wind up I could really see why people would snap back.

I am even more confused than I was before your last post Simon! I've never written a 'blue sky' topic / thread / post.

I can safely say hand on heart, I do not have a clue who this banned poster is and I can safely say again I'm not a relative of his.

With regards to this thread, I think it helps if you have actually participated in the ring or do / did a martial art to appreciate how difficult it is for the professionals.

Did a search on 'Lefty' and he is obviously the banned guy! For the record, I am not effing Lefty! You can see me on You Tube if you like!!!

I did a lot of boxing training as a school kid and was doing really well until I got into the ring for my first fight and got hit, hurt a lot more than training. I realised quickly I didn't have what it takes to be a boxer and switched to being just a fan instead.

well the reason i gave up boxing was of hand trouble ......... the ref kept standing on them
