Khan vs Judah

As noted in the BS sticky thread - looks like the fight is on the 23rd of July.
Not often a British fight is involved in a geniune Unification bout, now we could get 3 in the next 6 months.
Cracking fight this one.... I like Khan's chances, but Zab has still got some speed and power left. Interesting stat is the height and reach. I think Zab finds it difficult to utilise his strengths against bigger guys. It took him a while to figure out Mabuza. Khan is the bigger guy, but Zab has the reach according to Boxrec stats.
Amazing to think 10 years after the Tszyu fight - Zab is still in Unification fights... and this is a fighter who has lost more of the big ones than won.

I don't see Khan getting too much trouble in this one. It's the best fight he could have hoped for, an extra belt, a known name and someone who has seen much better days.
Just adds more $$$$ to the pot when he fights Bradley

I think this is a good fight and Judah could cause Khan a lot of problems in the first six rounds of the fight. If it goes beyond that you'd have to fancy Khan to take over.

I think Khan will win by wide decision or late stoppage, but Zab is dangerous. According to the poll I started (check below) a lot of people think Zab willl KO Khan.

Why couldn't they make the Bradley fight?

Also HBO guaranteed both Bradley & Alexander another outing with a guaranteed purse after their fight. If i recall Bradley was offered $1.3M to fight whoever he can get approved or $1.4M to fight Khan. So i assumed that he was looking to do both even thought Khan then offered him 50% of the UK PPV. I then heard that he might be waiting out his contract with Gary Shaw which expires at the end of this month so who knows what the final reason is.

I'd assume this must be the general consensus. One thing for sure is that if Judah (despite the fact that he's way past his best) hurts Khan he'll capitalise on it unlike Maidana.

Quite looking forward to this one.
Khan's going into it blame-free for the Bradley fight falling through, Judah's not coming off a bad loss, it's a fun fight.
It'll probably end up being a showcase for Khan but I'd never write Judah off, even if he is a little blunted he can still whack and he's still a credible opponent.

Depends on the hard-headedness of Team Khan. It's a good fight, but it'll be in Vegas or NYC so a 2am UK start time at the earliest. If they insist on PPV, I can see Sky telling them where to go (there simply isn't the demand to watch Khan in the middle of the night for £15).
If they go the Prime Time PPV route, they won't have Sky doing the big sell in the weeks leading up to it, The Sun (and F wanks column) won't be interested and the numbers will be pathetic. Others on here will have better memories for this kind of thing than me, but I can't recall a fight of this relatively lowly stature at this time of night being a successful PPV event.

Zab's got the punch, the style and the experience to win this, but I don't know if he has the engine anymore. If Khan stays at range he'll be OK, but Judah will be dangerous for as long as he's in there. Not the same in terms of stature, but this might be more exciting than The Amazing Disappearing Bradley Fight.

I agree but then again, I also think Khan's best work comes early in the fight and he does seem to get a bit sloppy as the rounds go on. Whether this increases the chances of Judah catching him late or Khan avoiding the early big shots is where it gets interesting. I think Khan will win, I imagine it'll be on points and fairly routine

Judah has power and most importantly speed. He's the one guy out there who can probably match Khan for handspeed, if not output.
Khan will need to be on his bike early on. I don't think he can afford to start aggressively against Judah, because Zab has the speed to counter him, and the power to knock him out.
If a crude winger like Maidana can find Khan's chin repeatedly, Zab certainly can.
I think this is a very dangerous fight, and Zab will be highly motivated for this one.
Make Khan a slight favourite, but not by much.

It will make a difference who Khan has as conditioner in this fight I think. Thought part of the reason he looked dreadful against McCloskey might have been that he was overtrained, he made comments to that effect before the fight. He seemed to be a stronger fighter under Ariza, who might be back in the camp.

Judah is a great boxer without the mental strenth and gets sloppy in the late rounds but starts very strong, he was beatting mayweather in there fight in the first 5 rounds but then lost it. he is dangrouse in te 1st hafe of the fight and never in the later rounds. plus hes getting on now.
I am saying kahn in this fight, its will be the Malignaggi fight again but with power.

Judah has been in wi the best he's still a dangerous fighter. I reckon he will cause Khan some problems maybe even have him on the deck but Khan should outpoint him.

Judah is on the decline and not the same fighter he once was, had this been 5 or 6 years ago i'd tip him to win it by KO. He's obviously still very dangerous and capable winning this, but i think Khan should take it. Judah's mental toughness has been well exposed, so if Khan can keep the pressure on, pepper him all night with punches, and build up a good points lead, Judah will probably crack down the stretch and Khan might just take him out.
Judah's iggest danger punch is his counter left upercut, its like greased lightning and Khan will need to be very very wary of it. Judah was able to get it of against the likes of Tyszu and Cotto and although Khan showed toughness in the Maidana fight, its fair to say he does not posses the chin of either of those two. If Judah nails Khan, there's every chance Khan will crumble, so this fight will always be interesting for as long as it lasts.
Great fight for Khan, i'm taking to him more and more lately. Like Froch, he clearly wants the big fights and to prove he's the best, and thats certainly good enough for me. I really hope he can win this in style.

I completely agree. I dont think its a stretch to say that this is Khan's most dangerous opponent. Zab loses heart against fighters that hurt him e.g. Cotto. He could have won that fight if he'd had more self-belief. If crude Maidana can pin Khan down late then Judah certainly can and he has proven knockout power. What odds on Judah being the man to rise to the top of the 140 pile by beating Bradley, Khan and Maidana. It not that ridiculous a proposition!

ive got a really bad feeling that judahs counter left uppercut will be the beginning of the end in this fight. if maidanas quick enough to nail khan more than once then judah's right in there with a shot. if khan imposes himself and keeps his boxing tight then i imagine he'll take over in the second half when judah gets sloppy and take a decision. but im not betting on it

Judah will win this by KO guys. He must look at Khan and know how vulnerable he is. Judah has nightmares against tough types like Clottey who can plod forward through his shots all night, but porous defenced runners like Khan won't bother him. Expect Judah to be fired up for this one. He'll have no problem finding Khan's chin and shouldn't be too worried by Amir's power. When Judah lands, he'll seal the deal. I'll be betting on this.
