I see a distance fight. Both are very tough men, but I would give the edge in skills to Hopkins, who I think would pull out the decision. Froch is very skilled himself but not too hard to hit, and I think Hopkins would take advantage.Would be interesting to see.

At this stage I would slightly favor Froch.

i think froch's style could be unique amongst the men hopkins has faced...then again that is also true in reverse...

Froch by UD, fairly wide decision though. I dont think Hopkins has the work rate to beat Froch

I wouldn't bet against Hopkins, Froch can be lazy at times, and I think Pops would make him hesitate and set the same traps he does for everyone else.
Styles make fights, and Hopkins has the style to frustrate the hell out of Carl.
Close fight, but I can see Hopkins just nicking it.

Narrow Hopkins points win for me. He's the better technical boxer and would catch Froch with big shots. Froch's best chance would be to keep the fight at range and use his underrated jab. The fight comes inside Hopkins wins easily.

Great fight in the offering, could be huge for Froch's legacy. Hopkins is the undisputed #1 Light Heavy - the clear man... Froch needs these kind of fights.

I'm surprised by the number of people picking Froch. I see Hopkins winning about 8 rounds to 4, he'll slow the pace right down and make Carl fight his fight.
It would be similar to Froch v Taylor, without Hopkins running out of steam at the end.

If he follows Bernie round, he loses. If he stands his ground behind his jab, keeps it tight, then Hopkins might come unstuck.
McCracken is the factor in this match-up.
He knew exactly how to deal with Abraham, having Eastman fight him previously.
McCracken was also with Eastman when he fought a fresher Hopkins at the Staples Center.
If Froch shows he can box to orders again rather than have a 'fight' with Johnson, then I'd pick Froch. If he is reckless and starts throwing those looping, clubbing swings again, then you'd have to favour Bernie to pick him off in a stinker.

Think Hopkinds would just outpoint Froch because he has too much ring smart

Froch would stop old man B-hop inside the distance! He is a 46 yr old man not a Duracell battery.......

Pascal hit him with bombs and couldn't stop him at that was at 175. Froch hasn't stopped anyone since Jermaine Taylor whose chin has been cracked for some time.
It's possible of course that Froch could stop him, but I don't think it likely.

why do ppl think this is so great, and why are ppl looking past fights confirmed (johnson) and potential (andre ward)?
aren't those fights big enough?
if froch wins super 6, maybe he'd be able to get the fight on his terms, bringing hopkins down (halfway or all the way) to super middle, in the UK to boot. that way i would certainly favour froch.
froch has the hardest learning curve in boxing right now, from pascal, taylor, dirrell, abraham and so on...
let's see how he comes through this.

He doesn't have the engine and flurries that JC has and I think that's the reason Joe scrapped it. Froch's workrate won't be much of a problem for Hopkins imo, Froch bangs hard but no more than Pascal for instance.

I cannot see Carl getting past Ward to be honest. I just dont think he has the tools to win, bar a miraculous stoppage.

if he does, that fight would be a pretty good preparation for hopkins. given the holding, running, scuffling, the general avoidance of what you would call TRADING PUNCHES...and the reliance on using the head as a third glove...
ward's spoiling and dirty tactics could be his undoing. froch is a stronger and harder man, could pull him down onto a counter uppercut, and if ward tries that nonsense on froch, he could get manhandled up close. ward actually tried this on sakio bika, in his non super 6 title defense, and made of complete pig's ear of what should have been a routine title fight.

No One from 168-175lbs stops Hopkins. No One! Too good, too seasoned, too much Knowledge to be stopped.

X2
We keep talking of Hopkins getting stopped cos of his age, it's not happening. Just like Mayweather against Mosely when he got tagged heavily, Hopkins will do anything to avoid being seriously hurt or stopped

Well he didn't look to good against Direll, and Ward can fight more than Direll. Carl struggles with movers, Abraham had the flaws to make a focussed Froch look good, Carl could probably have done better against Kessler by not brawling.
Ward is strong enough, I don't think he will ever allow Froch to impose himself.
