no idea if its the same guy, Im not sure if David Payne the writer ever fought.
The David Payne being linked here only fought four times, calling it a day in 2006 after 3 consecutive losses.

Na tommy, he trained am but never went pro, not fought am as far as I know. Football is now his poison I believe
