I wonder if Perez has been eating McDermotts portion of donoughts whilst he has been in training.

If not I'd like to see him in there.

He doesnt come across as the type that would pull out to me. I would imagine that it will come out that he is being paid more money for an easier assignment or he is injured.

Martin Power didn't seem too convinced by McDermott's training camp a couple of weeks back

No official annoucement yet. I doubt Dallas would take the fight at this short notice. Michael Sprott be a better shout.

I think it would be unfair on Dallas to put this on him at such short notice but its an option and Tom would have to consider it if the money is right, and perhaps if he losess malony promises him a comeback bout with Big John for southern area, obviously if he wins it would be fantastic for him

This is so disappointing Price deserves to have a decent test this is the last thing he needs his career has stalled enough already.

No, but Price ought to have faced better opponents in his ten fights to date.

It's just a shame that this fight is seemingly off, hopefully they can get Dallas to take it - it's a good opportunity for him after a poor showing last time out.

No but he could be at British level by now imo and as mentioned he should most certainly have faced a better quality of opposition he was out for 6 months after his debut. He hasn't been fighting that regularly considering he has been knocking people over in a few rounds mostly. Not exerting fights. Now he gets a half decent test and he will most likely face a poor late replacement and have to wait until after summer to fight another eliminator to fight for the British by end of the year. essentially for a highly skilled amateur its taking a lot of time and effort no fault of his own to reach British level and fight a god standard of opposition.

Its not a criticism especially of him or his promoter just the way things have worked out for him are frustrating for the fans and for him more than anyone i guess when it seems like he could do with building a bit of momentum.

i heard its off, macdermott did not make the weight apparently !
