McDonnell v Hall set for Doncaster in September

I'm going with Hall. I don't agree that McDonnell has beaten better men than Hall (unless you mean he's beaten better men than Hall has beaten, which I do accept). Blimey, I went into stujones mode for a minute there (no offence Stu) :PBen Carey wrote:This should be a cracker. Hall has the aggressive style to really disrupt McDonnell early on and I do wonder how much longer Jamie can continue to drag his frame down to 8st6. In contrast, McDonnell's very gritty and has shown he can be versatile. He's beaten better men than Hall and I wonder if Stu has been slightly flattered by his wins over (a faded) Martin Power, (a dangerous but limited) Gary Davies and (the totally outgunned) John Donnelly.
Ironically neither man convincingly beat Ian Napa, but at least Hall can say he ultimately deserved to. Jamie's come on leaps and bounds since the Napa victory. He needs to start more purposefully and not concede ground like he did against the Kenyan recently. If he's slow out of the blocks again then I really favour Hall. If he utilises his better assets though I think he can pull through a topsy-turvy 12 rounder to snatch a close points victory.
I'll go with McDonnell, for now, just.
I expected nothing less from a Darlo lad. To much to ask for the fight to be at The Dolphin Centre.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:I'm going with Hall. Yep, I meant McDonnell's beaten better men than Hall has beaten to date, IMO. Without getting too carried away, I can't recall a domestic title fight that was this hard to call since, well I just can't remember. With that fascinating insight I'll sign-off.Ian 'Mr' McNeilly wrote:I'm going with Hall. The good thing about having boxing at the Dolphin Centre is that there's always an unscheduled undercard amongst the audiencekeithmoonhangover wrote:I expected nothing less from a Darlo lad. Ooh, that's another tough one, Keith. Chisora for me - faster, better mobility and punch variety. Came through an impressive gut check against Sexton in their return which I think stands up better than Fury's comparative struggles with John McDermott. Neither are huge hitters, both have sturdy chins, so it could come down to who has the better stamina which makes me side with Chisora.keithmoonhangover wrote:Ben, opinions are devided on Fury-Chisora. I've heard one or two unsubstantiated gym rumours about Chisora over the past couple of years. Had I not heard the unconfirmed rumours I would be even more confident that he'll prevail. Fury's preparation has often left plenty to be desired, he's not the banger some initially thought he was and he dod struggle against McDermott's workrate and relatively quick hands. Chisora for me, UD.
Who do you fancy?
Interesting. What makes you so confident that Fury wins? Most see a close fight either way so I'm intrigued. I know we're going off topic.keithmoonhangover wrote:Fury all day long mate.Ben Carey wrote:Ooh, that's another tough one, Keith. Chisora for me - faster, better mobility and punch variety. Who do you fancy?I think it'll be an easy fight for him, but there are plenty of others on here that think I'm wrong.
Confidence, power, reach, movement, skills and most importantly, uppercut. He a future world champion mate (I'm going to get so much stick on here if I'm wrongBen Carey wrote:Interesting.
