So says the esteemed Mr Warren in this weeks column -
http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sp ... egend.html
Boxing on terrestrial has to be a good thing, even if it is only C5. Who will be on the presentation team? Will Buncey get the gig?

Is this true then?
Dont read that particular column as someone as stated above its just a platform for Mr W to slag off fighters who have left his stable, going up against one of his stable, or other promoters.

Warren ppv will end up on primetime I hope! As his last one sky should have knocked off ppv.

Don't see why he would put it there if it wasn't true, if this is true it is great news for boxing. That means there will be boxing on sky, primetime and C5 then that weekend

If it is on channel 5 then happy days. It's a good fight between 2 decent heavyweights.
Hopefully it will be a sign of things to come but I'm sure it will depend on the ratings the show gets.
I read Warren's column each week online and I never understand why he slags off fighters that he doesn't promote. It's a an excellent platform to promote his own stable and generate more interest in boxing and it's a pity he doesn't do that.

it's good news considering that you have to pay extra for any decent fight these days. Hope it becomes a regular thing although Channel 5 usually make a mess of sport.

If they get over half million viewers that's good news as channel 5 best figures are at most 1.5 million. Can see this being a one off though.

Excellent post. Unfortunatly it seems to be the way FW works. Boxer x is world class under him, as soon as he leaves he becomes a bum. Happens time and time again. Pity. Even Calzaghe came for stick after he left and FW claims he's the best fighter he ever promoted.

This is going to be Tyson Fury's big coming out party. Chisora is in massive trouble.

Great news if true, but why hasn't Fat Mick announced it?
Going to be a great night of boxing for us fans, but i wondering if Barker is P**sed off about leaving Hennessey now, sky doesn't get great viewing figures anyway but if this is true it is going to get even less that night, well done to Hennessey if he does manage to pull this one off.
hope his is sign off things to come.

Why would Barker be pissed off he getting more fights now. This could be a one off perhaps Hennessy has given the fight away for free.

Totally agree anything that can get boxing to terrestrial TV has to be a good thing. Hope that its a contract that has a card a month. Lets wait & see.

Out of interest how would mick with his current stable do a show a month? I not knocking him just think people are getting carried away why did Warren annouce this.

Logically, Channel 5 is owned by Richard Desmond who part owns Primetime, so the tie-up is there.
Warren announced it to get ahead of an official announcement on Monday.
Any terrestrial coverage is good.

fair comment but more fights on a pay channel where only at best 150k people will be watching, is this a good move or not for Barker ???and this will more than likely be far less this time if channel 5 if true, and when you get to this level it is not a number of fights its the quality, look at Haye, Khan and Hatton they all had many months between fights which seems to be norm when you reach this level.

If it gets as advitised right then I think they'll get over 1 million viewing figures! All about the job the TV and the Promoter does from here on out!! This could be massive for boxing it really could! Great news IMO
