All the promoters with Sky deals only get a limited number of dates as there is only so many slots to fill. I believe Hatton, Warren and Maloney are on the same number but Matchroom have more due to Prizefighters etc.

I was speaking to Ray Hatton last week and Hatton has the same amount next year too. Apparently they only have 1 sky date left this year.
They are starting to show some of their bills for free on Hatton's website i think and they have also signed a deal with Eurosport to show some fights (which has apparently pissed sky off)

Would they be missed?

From a competition viewpoint? Certainly - the more significant players the more they are forced to be competitive and that means extra risks and better fights (on paper). But so far this year (2011, rather than the boxing season) we have had 2 Hatton shows on Sky with one to come and none of them have been "lock out the wife, get the boys round, can't miss thrillers". We've had Steve Foster Jnr losing his Euro belt to the Belgian and then Denton Vassell in a commonwealth fight against a tough african. This weekend sees their third card with Martin Murray taking on Nick Blackwell. It's all a bit, in the MTV generation parlance, "Meh".

Four promoters brings a nice balance, and the Hattons have some interesting prospects, so I'd like to see them stick around. It'll be interesting to see how things get carved up when the contracts are renewed. Matchroom have come in for criticism for the number of fingers they have in Sky pies, but with the likes of Kell Brook v Lovemore N'Dou and Darren Barker v Sergio Martinez they do seem to be putting their fighters in riskier fights, albeit with greater likely rewards.

No one can tell me Hatton's show this week is better than Spencer Fearon's.

Are you being serious its good bill for a NON TV SHOW :witzend: not sky material as choi is aged based on his prizefighter performance and yes the Hatton bill is better
