He's just stoking the fire - it's good.

sparring with big gloves and a head guard is a bit different to fighting in 8oz gloves with no head guard.

Woodhouse has got a point !

Small point, probably just your phrasing...but if you've been hit by bigger punchers/people than you have been tested, you've just not failed the test.

muttley never landed any frankie, yes you defence was decent, but it did not have to be did it, muttley never launched a sustained attack all fight!!

curtis will come to win and will try to win, have any of your other opponents done that? ask yourself honestly please.

he landed a right hand, in the first half of the fight, high up on the forehead from memory.

I'm sure Frankie will be alright, but I really hope Curtis puts it on him, asks a few questions and makes Frankie show a little more respect than he has done pre-fight!

The idea of this fight seems to have caught the imagination of some boxing fans, but I think it's a poor match up.

Gavin needs to be in there with a Steve Williams or Lenny Daws or Ashley Thephane. These guys bring the necessary skills and drive to give Gavin a testing nights work. With all due respect to Woodhouse, he doesn't. Gavin's ready for a British eliminator or British title shot. These sort of matches won't enhance his credibility.

Going by Gavin's attitude towards the whole thing I think he feels the same.

Woodhouse is getting this off the back of his footballing career (which I think he admitted). It isn't a step up for Gavin, but the people who make the decisions know there is money to be made from it given the column inches Woodhouse has generated since his change of career (plus the animosity between the fighters).

Sure, he'll give it a good go, but these 2 are worlds apart in terms of skill, it'll teach us nothing new in my opinion. I predict Gavin goes back to being everyones tip for stardom after he looks the business

To be fair i don't think the poster was saying it in that context Bomber....

I think he was saying its a waste of time fighting a part-time footballer & we will learn nothing from it.

I'm a Gavin fan but he needs to step in the class - he was probably our most experienced amatuer from the olympic bunch & he's lagging behind - despite being one of the oldest from the group.

C'mon Frankie - DEMAND better oposition! :box:

Woodhouse is a step backwards. Come on, the guy has been recently beaten by Peter McDonagh!

Frankie has been a pro for over two years now.

Woodhouse is not even a ranked top ten Light Welter in the UK.

The fact that Frankie made a thread about this shows Woodhouse has him rattled.

People have t realise what a gulf in class there is here, I wish Curtis all the best but he is diving in with the sharks.

He is definitely rattled - He protests to much

Great Amateur, but not being able to punch in the pros is a major hindrance, for results as well as tv

Gavin will destroy him with out getting out of first gear. If they want to make it a good fight they should blind fold frankie and tie 1 arm behind his back, that way it will be more even but I'd still back frankie to stop him.

Come on funtime!

Frankie Gavin is undoubtedly talented and will go a fair way in the sport in terms of titles etc, but he'll never be box office or a fans favourite in the way that a Hatton or a Benn were because he's always likely to be in a stinker, and I have a feeling this one may go that way as well.

Let's hope both of them go out there, take risks and throw bombs.

I would'nt 8 KO's from 10 Fights :TU: Them 8 Stoppages where against people that dont get Stopped that often....

Frankie aint a one Punch Knockout Merchant but his skill's and the way he puts his Punches together is unreal, stun's them and after 3-4 more shots its over..

I think the more Cutis comes to win this the more he will get punished, he cant outbox Gavin so he'l need to come forward but if he comes forawrd and rushes him, the force of Gavin Punch and Woodhouse rushing in I see an Early night within 4 rounds.... Dont know why this fight is Happening I dont think Curtis needs the money? But surely he dont want to take a bad Hiding... imo Frankie would'nt use him as a Sparring Partner, Frankie would'nt get nothing out of it.. I dont mean to sound so disrespectfuly just cant understand why its happening, the Central Area at L-Wealther Weight is Vacent that would be the path id head down.. Someone with loses to McD and Jay Morris Cant beat Gavin imo cant Even win a round...

Frankie wasn't right last time out, but this time he is going to be awesome and show the class. I quite like Curtis, but I fear he is out of his depth here. Good rivalry thoguh and makes it an interesting watch. just hope FW really moves Gavin on after this and stop holding him back.
