A HULL pub at the centre of a police investigation into drug dealing will close until the autumn for a complete makeover.
The Timber Dock pub, in Victoria Dock, was raided last month as part of an investigation into a suspected organised crime gang.
George William Rowley, 23, who ran the pub, has been charged with supplying cocaine over two months last year while the chef Christopher Coles has been charged with supplying cocaine and ecstasy.
But brewery Marston's has decided to take the opportunity to totally refurbish the Timber Dock to restore its image as a community pub.
A spokesman said: "The Timber Dock is to receive an extensive refurbishment and is set to re-open in September.
"The refurbishment represents a significant investment for us, and will completely revamp the pub's interior, making it lighter and brighter and more family-focused.
"Once it is open, the pub will be more food-orientated, with a real emphasis on providing the right family environment while still being at the heart of the community.
"The car park will also be having extensive work done at the same time."
Ten people, including boxer Tony Booth, were arrested as part of an undercover police investigation into the supply of cocaine in the city and the dealing in counterfeit Euro bank notes and fake £10 and £20 notes.
The men have all appeared at Hull Crown Court and remain in custody
The defendants are next due to appear in court for a plea and case management hearing in July and a provisional trial date has been set for September.
