Who remembers the 'Greek Tank' ? Born in Liverpool and boxed out of Birmingham - his fight with Rocky Kelly must have been some war!
How is he doing these days?

Tough man, very tough.
Was there a medical reason he retired? I seem to remember something like that

Grew up watching him vs Kelly n Bingham, had only just started down the gym when i saw him vs Kelly, nearly put me off for life!! Call me sick but while other kids used to dream up fights like Tyson v Ali etc... I dreamed of Ward v Petrou!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kostas was fighting better than ever when his world collapsed in 1989 with the brain scan. He gave Lloyd Honeyghan a really hard fight early in their respective careers.

I once went to a cafe called Hercules in Birmingham's old rag market. Kostas was in the kitchen frying the best fish and chips I have ever tasted.

Kostas petrou's son had bags of potential. I remember watching him spar one of the top pros who is now pushing for a british title fight and Kos knocked him out the ring he is one of the most powerful lads at his weight I've ever saw. Nice lad to I ent saw him in a while tho the last time I saw him he was being told by Lenny Woodall Richie Woodall dad that he will be champ one day. Could take a good shot to like his dad.

Kostas petrou son was the strongest lad at his weight I've come across. He knocked a lad clean out the ring in sparing the lad he knocked out the ring is now fighting for British title, very tough lad could take a good shot aswell like his dad.
