David Tua is fighting Monte Barrett in a return over in Manakau, south Auckland on August 13
Tua is hinting that this could be his last fight, doesn't bode well.
Thoughts......

Since their last meeting Barrett's only fight has been a draw with fellow 40 year old Charles Davis, who has lost more fights than he has won.
Is there any point in this fight?

well everybody seems to think that monte desrves a rematch. i think tua will ko him in a round or 2 next time. tua had shoulder problems and couldn't train properly leading up to their 1st fight. and he was very restricted in the fight and did seem to take a too blase approach during the fight too. as if he didn't have to do much and would win without trying hard sort of thing.
he beat cameron so easily, he may have gotten too carried away with things imo.

Yeah I think he's the best aswell but I put it like that because there are so many diehard aussies on here that would pluck out some hillbilly from yesteryear that I've never heard of, and they would never have seen fight, but just the fact that Tua's a kiwi/samoan would be enough of a breeding ground for a silly argument.

I think Thunders chin got found out all through his career, Tua would of hammered him but there would have been bombs thrown by both though. Would have made a good Samoan heavyweight title fight.

Tua may have handled this better than Grimsley did. Just think, Grimsley went the distance with George Foreman in the fight before this.

Bob Fitzsimmons was British he had his first 42 fights in Australia(learn't his craft here) 1 in Mexico the rest in the US and had 1 more in Australia............absolutely none in NZ, he died there it doesn't make him a KIWI.

I don't want to get into an argument with a foul mouthed aussie (I would say typically, but you are in a league of your own) I live in New Zealand most of the year, and I follow kiwi boxing. No crime committed. I love being English only this summer (aussie summer) I was cheering on England smash the Aussies at cricket as for Bob Fitzsimmons it only re-itgates my point that along with Joe Bugner, Australia really has never had anything to shout about when it comes to Heavyweight boxing, and if you read earlier you will see that Brute was comparing Jimmy Thunder to David Tua, to which you said nothing.
What makes it even more ridiculous is that none of the aforementioned boxers were born in either N.Z or Aussie.

He was a nine year old child when his family moved to New Zealand. He never fought in the UK, he learned to fight in Sydney, his first 41 pro fights were in Australia as well as a challenge for Bill Lang's Australian Heavyweight title late in his career.

His grounding in the Southern Hemisphere is pretty solid.

It's debatable how many fights he had in Australia and it's also debatable whether he had any legal pro fights in N.Z, He did however win world titles in the U.S

Tua is awesome and good on him for having a crack. Retirement is forever I believe he will beat Barrett.

He beat guys such as Maskaev rd11 TKO who became WBC Champion, A Rd 10 TKO over Hasim Rahman who later KO'd Lewis to become IBO IBF & WBC champ then later had a draw with Rahman a couple of years after he beat Lewis.

Sensationally KO'd Ruiz in 19 seconds and multiple word champion Michael Moorer in 30seconds is testament to Tua's explosive power. Maskaev and Rahman in the later rounds show he can knock people out in rounds 1 thru 12. IMO Tua is the best the region has seen at Heavyweight. HE would of KO'd Jimmy Thunder who in his career got stopped 7times.
