Leaving aside the appalling card last night, will you be renewing your subscription when the news season starts?
I am not so sure I will be renewing. The decenmt fightsa are now PPV, the Saturday fight nights are mediocre. I viewsed the Spencer Fearon Choi Vs Asiku card for free on the net yesterday and for the life of me this card was very entertaining and much better than the card on SKY last night.

So I ask the question. will you be subscribing to SKY next season?

I think it is really taking a step forward. Rhodes today, Froch live and next week there is Macklin-Sturm. Excellent news.

I love my sport and therefore will always renew as long as they show boxing, not that unhappy with what they are doing to be honest, clearly trying to take a step forward
with Smith at the helm, think we need to look back 10-15 years and see what they were showing then, its so much better now and I think will improve under the current team.

We have the weekly boxing show Ringside, they are trying to get fights in from the states but same as us all only have a certain budget to work to, it does for me to be honest.

Sky have shown a lot of boxing recently and all cards are not going to be as strong as people hope. No matter what Sky do, you will always get the whinging b@stards out there demanding more. If you are a boxing fan, you will renew.

I voted YES, althoe in reality i canceled 3 months ago,
and im very glad i did, complete rip off

I will be renewing but i think less fights should be put on ppv. If im paying a large amount for a sports package i should get most fights imo.

If im going to have to pay for most of the half decent fights i may aswel scrap the sports package and just use the money towards the ppv fights.

Also if i scrap the sports package i may as well scrap the whole subscription since boxing is the only reason i really have sky. I can just stream the fights if its going to be too expensive i suppose.

They I asked why and I said you don't have enough quality boxing... They had no argument and agreed.. Said there not really interested in boxing

Unless SKY prove its worth the extra money I am not paying a subscription and PPV just so that Promoters can get rich and still promote crap SFN.

SO far we have had Froch and a few decent fithts, but there is still the PPV rip off to consider - add that to the HD package and how the hell is it value for money?

Keeping mine. It's much improved on the whole from a few years ago. Last nights bill wasn't too cracking, bit of a throwback to the dark days of a few years ago when they showed shows from one promotor who had the monopoly.
Now they have to put on value shows or they don't get the dates. Hatton will be looking to up their game a bit I reckon, they'll know as much as us that the quality of matches wasn't great.

I will keep my subscription going but most likely stream PPVs as im not interested in paying extra money.
Unless its pacman mayweather of course. Lol.

Sky deserves a slagging for a lot of things (especially their incredibly biased news coverage) but they're putting plenty of effort into boxing. Once they get the contracts sorted, it'll be even better.

Who will get new contracts in your opinion?

My worry about Sky is they seemed to be obsessed now with this "its personal" rivalry thing.

Haye vs Harrison, Degale Groves, Klitchsko Haye, and soon (you watch) Macklin Barker and Clev Bomber.

I might be in the minority, I can see why Sky are doing it and its working - but the flip side is that this will mean PPV and more of them - only one of these should be a PPV.

Why cannot we just see something like Munroe vs Booth (if they want it) - just use the skill of both fighters to sell it and don't make it an event.

If Haye and Klitchsko were boosom buddies it would sell, as would Mayweather vs Pacquiao - I like a rivalry as good as the next man, but they are becoming phony and feel a bit contrived.

I don't mind paying for Sky Sports as also a huge fan of NFL, however I just refuse to buy PPV for fights that aren't PPV quality.

When you consider several years ago the level of big fights we got for free on Sky & now they expect £15 for most cards its a joke.

As a result I just watch the free cards & dig into my pocket only if its a mega fight such as Haye/ Wlad.

The SKY boxing team are good guys. I like the shows - just wish there were more of them. I like Ringside too. They do a good job.

Why can't they give us a show that dips into the past? A 60 min doc of Alan Minter, Maurice Hope, Charlie Magri... Or perhaps do a one-off show of British Middleweights etc... These really can't be expensive shows to make and would surely keep boxign subscribers happy.

What does irk me is that when SKY first took it's bite out of boxing ITV were getting 15M+ viewers. Now it's a 'minority sport' that they're not that interested in... I don't believe that the potential market for the sport has changed. I just think the casual fan doesn't get enough exposure to the fighters.

Your gran falls in love with these guys when they're making their way up through the ranks as a humble fighter boxing his way out of poverty, or a cheeky young kid looking to shake up the old order, or as a demonised braggart who bears a grudge, etc...

Of course I will - and not just for professional reasons. What they do can always be improved, but we can say that about any of us. But I have no doubt that they're giving it their best shot and will continue to do so.

They did do that about 20 years ago. Eurosport also showed a lot of old bouts from the big hitters in British boxing from the 70s & 80s around the same time.

I think they're doing a good job, they'll never keep everyone happy but it has improved a lot recently and we're seeing more overseas fights that we wouldn't have seen a year ago. It can't be easy when you've got promoters saying "when you turn your back on Khan, you turn your back on Golden Boy" and all that b*llocks

I'd imagine they do it to appeal to the casual fan. The likes of us know that Munroe-Booth is a good match-up, but to the average sports fan there's not much appeal.

No I won't cancel it, without sky we have no boxing, you can't have fights of the year every week but fights should be announced 10 weeks before so that way you know what your getting! The shows should be vetted and approved, I'm not being biased but Franks shows very rarely disappoint IMHO
