Tommy Stalker up at light-welter is through to the semi's after beating last years bronze medalist, and then topping that off by beating last year's gold medalist in the quarters.

Recent flyweight ABA champ, Charlie Edwards, is also through to the semis beating former a former two-time medalist. Good on the 18 year old in his first senior international comp.

Ireland's Ray Moylette is through also.

Cambell lost a disputed decision in the quarters.

Selby is through to Semi's. Anthony Joshua got stopped.

Anthony Joshua got stopped in the 3rd of his quarter final he was up on points but was rocked heavily in the 3rd and stopped on his feet :(

He still looks very raw to me and I thought he lost that fight.

Nevin and Conlan were on the wrong end of robberies, Nevin especially.

I'd like to see Ward move up and out of the division and make way for Egan in the qualifiers.

i heard or read somewhere that Egan was partying it up in Miami (where his WSB franchise is based) and had taken his eye off the ball. Any truth in those rumours?

It's was a close fight in the seniors and Egan was handling easy enough until Ward bulled through him and Egan fell apart.

I just think that Egan would do better or at least as good and I think Ward would do better than the guy on the weight above (Sheehan) so we would have both of them.

Not only that but I forsee a potential Frankie Gavin type scenario when Ward has outgrown the weight and it is impossible to make the weight - then we'd have lost both Egan and ward.

Ps I know he's not Flexen, I'm just yanking his chain.

He is bound to be raw, he is still a child.

I heard that Nevin got well and truly "jobbed" alright.

Was keeping an eye on how Joshua faired in this tournament. His first big international competition.

Yes, but Ward will be a year bigger, older, wiser and more experienced and after all there are experienced boxers at LHW as well.

Its preferable to him outgrowin the weight

But he will have to qualify at Heavyweight&theres less places up for grabs

I think he is a cousin of Martin Ward that fights for Repton as well, obviously good fighting genes.

I see what you mean if he qualify at the lighter weight,then at 2012 cant do the weight..
I was quite surprised to see in last weeks BN that the Irish had box offs at two weights to see who would go to the Euros as they normally stick with they boxers who won the nationals..

Young Charlie Edwards done fantastic to pick up a bronze in his first senior championships
its along way to go yet but he will be around for 2016
