the ones featuring him pounding meat ala rocky and running up the stairs ala rocky

I mean david haye he's really like rocky balboa isnt he? They really have the same personality, love from the everyday man, and stand for the same values.

If david is supposed to be rocky who the hell does that make adam booth......mickey?.....or paulie?

But than i tell myself David is a one woman man just like rocky.......they look similar........david bumbles and mumbles words like rocky and is a hungry fighter living in a piss stained bedsit......and not a multi millionaire braggart with the flash.

Frankly if sky were imaginative they would have been better off portraying haye as appollo creed taking on ivan drago....after all wladimir has taken to wearing that soviet red and yelllow adidas tracksuit........ And david haye is a good talker just like creed.

Lets see imaginative vignettes and not some half baked half arsed nonsense.......personally i thought the holyfield valuev promo where holy is in his swiimming pool hearing about valuev the way appolo did drago was awesome!

Considering what Drago did to Creed, I don't think this idea is a good one.

The only thing wrong with the promo was that haye wasnt pounding a bloody cow carcas with real spite whilst just wearing his hand wraps.

Other than that i though it was pretty good.

They've obviously put a bit of cash behind 'em, they look the part, but they seriously need to ditch that shi*ty music ("knock-im-out! knock-im-out! To the right, to the left...").

They've used the rocky theme on the other little promo of Haye running up the steps, so why on earth didn't they reuse it on the main one? Or even better get some bloody Survivor on the go, 'Burning Heart' would've been killer. Music's 50% of an ad and it should've been something guarantee'd to get the hair on the back of your neck up.

I'd have just redone this clip with Haye as Rocky, Klit as Drago and Booth as Creed. Job done. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MwPb7g_BlXQ

The RTL promo pissed all over the unimaginative Sky one.

I don't mind the carcass-pounding one, in fact I didn't even think Rocky immediately, but the steps in Philadelphia one is very weak IMO, too corny and doesn't make Haye look good at all. Hope for their sakes they've got a killer trailer lined up for fight week, when the buys will really start to be made.

This fight is going to sell loads even with naff trailers. Gareth A Davis was on talksport earlier, they had Duke Mckenzie in yesterday.

Oh it'll sell loads, no question at all, but I'm talking about absolutely maximising the buy rate and killer trailers are essential to that. Sky make a fortune on any PPV, but a big one like this ... well, you wouldn't believe the figures. I want them to make loads of money and instead of telling promoters 'no, we can't afford Fight A because out existing deals don't allow it', plough at least some of their PPV profit back into the revenue source, boxing - by which I mean boxing matches, the things Barney Francis blames everyone else but Sky for them not being made. Stop complaining and pointing the finger, pay for those fights with the money boxing earns you is what I say.

Indeed PPV profits some of it should be ploughed back into the coverage. I do thing sky need to enforce quality.

You can't have quality unless you pay for it in any area of life mate, we all know that. But Barney's got to get his head around that concept where boxing's concerned.

Sky just seem to lack any creativity at the moment, not just in boxing - but because I all care about is boxing, that's the most obvious to me.

The BBC for all their faults just produce classier products even ITV do too. The min documentary they did before Froch fought Pascal pissed all over the Groves deGale Behind the ropes.

As for this short teasers - I think they could be doing so much better. This is the biggest fight in boxing at the moment and all we are seeing are Haye hitting some meat and Wladimir made to look like Drago. Its 2011.

No jokes I see things on you tube (albeit not neccessarily sport) that are better produced, edited and shot and x10 more relevant and up to date than this.

Yeah, that one with Haye running up the steps was rubbish. It totally DIDNT capture the moment. There is enough good build up footage of them bad mouthing each other - a montage of that plus some KO footage of featuring the vulnerabilities and KO power of both, would have been better.

I've only seen the one with Haye hitting the carcass and Wlad been measured for power and think he fits the Drago bill very well.
it will appeal to all casual fans who relate boxing to Rocky, eye of the tiger etc. perfectly and gain them loads of sales.

It makes Haye look like some scrawny little fella, not the image they want to portray at all - and they could have got a bunch of kids to run up there after him, at least

haye is the type of person who wouldnt be seen dead in that shitty rocky style tracksuit he was made to wear for the advert....totally tripe.

what they should have done is a promo featuring a child in a london estate watching boxing with his father and seeing ali, foreman, tyson, holyfield, on tv while growing up, gabrielles " dreams come true playing in background" and than the same child going to gym to emulate his heroes, and than the clock fastforwarding to quick shots of haye doing well in world amateur final, his early pro career than a quick change of pace and music to russian peasent music and wladimir growing up and coming up in the soviet system and than quick video of brutal kayoes both have done, and some of the press conference bickering, where haye calls wlad borat and says he will save the heavyweight division of ali/tyson from the russian robots, and some of wlads observations about howhe reprsents the future , and shots of his epic ring entrances in germany, than two huge fisted gloves one with a UK/USA Flag and the other with a Ukranian/russian flag banging together hard like the opening to rocky 3 and a simple screen saying "when worlds collide" haye v klitchko to see who owns world heavyweight boxing...............job done.
