Haye swearing

I must admit I don't like this. I like all the trash talking and name calling, but the effing and jeffing I'm not sure is working for David. I know he's trying to get under Wlad's skin and has done so successfully, but I think he would have without the need for swearing.

Lack of class. Shameful and ignorant.

I am a David Haye fan and think he can win this fight, but I've never seen Haye swearing before in any tv stuff, I think that was a silly move and will lose him fans.

I think your right, its showing him up a bit really. He's swearing much more than he normally does and it tells me he's out of his comfort zone somewhat. During the HBO face of Kellerman asked why he does not like Wlad, and he gave the school boy reply "because he's a di*k head'. C'mon, i've nothing against swearing, but there's no wit whatsoever in that reply. Haye's a bright guy and his smack talk is usually worth listening to, but that sort of stuff is dumb, it tells me Wlad's more under his skin than vice versa.

He was effing and jeffing in the HBO face off thing, I like Haye as he is an articulate man, he is playing a part I know this, but personally I don't think he sounds right when he's swearing like that, just sounds daft.

Maybe porn, he had no problem getting a hard-on during the HBO face off apparently.

I couldnt give a monkeys if he climbed up on the conference table squatted down and took a dump infront of the press. People are talking about boxing again, theres a genuine buzz, and Haye has single handedly made that happen.

Whatever he has being doing is working!!

I've yet to watch it. By that I assume he was wearing slacks. Porn stars swear like no one's business...

...or so I'm told.
:P Not sure about the slacks but Dave wanted the world to know he was getting a boner in front of the camera crew, Kellerman and a certain big footed Ukrainian.

they are severe hard mofo's tho :!: & what prime fighters has haye sacrificed ?? barrett?bonin?ruiz? ruiz is a good scalp but he's took his beatings & was getting busted up v a journeyman on the haye v valuev under card

I agree with this, he's just not convincing, it sounds affected and daft. He's a well-spoken, articulate guy, so when he starts with the foul mouthed stuff it just doesn't carry the same weight as if someone like Tyson was saying it.

People swear in life, it doesn't look good and I do it myself at times and regret it but no one is perfect and we all have our faults! Swearing is something 95% of the population does :-(

Yeh I agree mate, some people pull it off better than others though. Like when you said to Cleverley 'I'll fuckin fight you now you rat', it sounded heartfelt, in the heat of battle type of stuff, it made me laugh with you not at you. No it wasn't big or clever, but neither did it make you look daft cos it suited you and the moment. What I'm saying is it doesn't really suit Haye and makes him look a bit silly. I'm kind of cringing for him.

in mitigation i offer the fact that Wladimir is indeed a dickhead...therefore haye's comment was a statement of fact.

I'm not sure we should be talking about how hard Haye is after that Face off thing.

There seems to be some kind of subplot going on - that Haye is the geniune fighter, toughman, and Wlad is this intellectual, athlete first boxer second, with no fighting instincts and - I've even read, that he some how, in that academic mind of his, thought scientifically given his size and natural gifts that making alot of dough from Boxing would be feesable - and thats why he is fighting.

Wlad is a fighting man also, might not be the same as his brother who was fighting doing more of the MMA basically as a young lad - but he had an extensive amateur record - you don't fight amateur from a young age for a long period of time if your not a fighting man.

A director at a firm I worked for used to swear to try and make himself one of the lads. It somehow didnt work in perfect Oxford English. I have nothing against swearing amongst adults, I just dont like it when there are young kids around. Haye is just swearing and bad mouthing to try and get the edge over Klitty.

I have no problem with swearing and one of my pet hates is the 'apologies for the language in the corner ladies' every f#cking Saturday.

BUT it's all about context and how it's done and for me Haye just came across as lacking class in the HBO face-off. Having said that, Haye & Booth are smart cookies and I have no doubt it's a deliberate ploy to get Klitschko angry and out of his comfort zone, to draw him into making mistakes in the ring.

And from where I'm sitting it's Fu#king working :box:

I honestly couldnt give a monkeys toss whether Haye wants to swear, talk about the meaning of life or just talk random bollocks for ever.

What I do care about is whether he wins or not.

For a BOXING forum there are some delicate wallflowers on here

Lets be honest here - you can be killed in the ring - and a little swearing is a very small non issue.

But it is a gentlemans sport and im very sure they will shake hands after it - even if behind closed doors. How can you call your biggest rival a naughty word when he is providing your biggest payday ever?

They need each other and like Benn and Eubank/Lewis and Tyson they will have a laugh about it and appreciate each other after it has all been said and done in the ring.

BTW I think Haye is way off the mark with the comments. Wlad is a very very nice man and all round good guy if you ask me!

David haye swearing isn't worth a second thought never mind a thread on a boxing site.
Boxing is a working class sport for working class men.
Working class men swear, that is all.
