Will Tomlinson has recently became no 1 in WBO rankings. Does anyone know much about him? And if so what would be Burns chances against him?

To be honest mate av not saw a lot of Tomlinson, infact that's a lie, I haven't seen any of him so can't really comment. One thing I would say but, is that the Madatory for Burns has changed 3 times since he won the belt, so good chance it might change again before September. Doesn't matter who it is anyway, Ricky will beat whoever is put in front of him

If he does get past Burns I would lovebto see him try and unify the division. I think he missed a chancebto do that when Fana was the champ because IMO Mendez will be the harder fight (but don't get me wrong definetly winnable) but I wouldn't be overly surprised if he was brought over by Golden Boy for Broner to have a crack at.

I think people are underestimating how difficult it will be to get burns a unification fight. Let's get this right no top contender gives a shit about burns. Mendez has already said he considers burns to be an absolute non factor. Why would goldenboy send a top prospect to box burns at the braehead arena in a fight unlikely to even be televised stateside. The unification fights warren has staged have happened because he overpaid the opponents. Burns simply doesn't generate enough money for that to happen. If Ricky wants to become a big player its him who will need to travel.

2.Ricky was more than happy to fight Martinez in PR,im sure hed fight in USA against someone imo not as good.
2.Mendez is all mouth,let him win a title first then people may listen to his claims,until then he should shut up!

Billy, I'm not criticising Burns, in fact in a funny way I'm defending him by saying that its not really his fault that the big fights are not being made. Burns is not a name in the US, can you really see HBO or showtime paying big money for Burns V another champion? No top SFW is going to come to Scotland on a non-televised (in the US) show unless they are being paid big money. Burns is not PPV material or anywhere near it at the moment, so how can Warren generate the kind of money necessary to make a fight like that and still pay Ricky properly? Sky dont help with Burns' profile by continually making comments about him maybe not even being the best UK SFW (even though he is by a country mile). So it would need to be Ricky who travels, which as you've said he's prepared to do. But Burns doesnt have a rep in the states which means the a unification fight is not a big fight to the other champs, so why would they pursue it? I think Burns is in limbo and will be for some time. Bet he fights the loser of Mitchell V Murray.

We dont really need american TV to get a unification fight imo. with regards Ricky fighting the loser of Murray and Mitchell thats a bit insulting we'd want the winner and Ricky would beat eithier of them imo.
