Now, Lennox has always giving me the impression that he is an intelligent person who will retire gracefully on top, with all his faculties intact. He even stated that he would do that in the Holyfield vs Lewis documentary. While, he's never said a bad word against the sport he loves, he's given me the impression that he likes to distance himself from the sport. He very really gives interviews discussing fighters or opinions on fights (unless its promoting his fights).

This weeks reports that he is returning to the ring has really surprised cause its the second time that the majority have expected Lewis to quit and he makes an aparent U turn. Remember the "who is left for me" after the Tyson fight, similar remarks were said after Klitchko. He always vowed to return after the Rahman defeat, but there was another opportunity for him to get out.

I'm just starting to wander if we've got Lewis all wrong. Can he get boxing out of his system, he's pushing 40 now but it seems set that he is to fight Klitchko again. I'm not saying he's wrong to fight him, or that he can't win. Its just the decision is a surprising one, will he continue if he wins or loses to Klitchko. I'm sure those around at the time thought Ali was intelligent enough to get out at the right time, but the lure prooved to much for him.

Will Lewis make the same mistakes that Ali did? If you think not, then why is he coming back- he has literally beaten everybody of note in the devision. Is he seriously waiting for Jones? Will it be Klitchko and out? He once said that he like to hang around to see Harrison in a position to fight to his vacant championship - that will be around 2020 then.

People do ge him wrong, he's not a limelight seeker so the assumption is his heart is not in the game, he's proving people wrong. It's taken long enough

good points, but even when he's in the crowd he seems like he doesn't care - obviously you don't win an olympic gold medal and the heavyweight title 3 times if you don't care about the sport. However, what about all these career u turn - did you expect to see him still in action at 40.

They all say they will know when the time is right. But when the time IS right, they think they have one great fight left in them. Lewis is asking for trouble fighting Klitschko again in my opinion. If he jumps straight into a rematch with the giant Ukrainian, I can't give him any chance of winning at his age and with two fights behind him in the last two years. Even if he gets in a warm-up (which I've heard no talk of), it would still be a tough fight.
He should quit while he's ahead.

It's always going to be difficult for a proud champion to quit the ring for good.. When you've got a team around you (on your payroll) telling you that, "You can beat this guy, you're still the best" its going to be tempting to lace ' em up for another big payday.. Lewis still firmly believes that he is the best H/W in the world and could well be reluctant to relinquish his belt "without a fight".. If/when Lewis beats Klitscho he may well decide to stick around for a bit longer.. At heart, he's probably no different from the many other great H/W champions that have been and gone..

He is teetering on the edge of retirement now and I think win or lose this next fight against Vitali (providing it happens) will be his last, but I said that after the Tyson fight and the last Vitali one

lewis wont leave this sport until he loses in the ring. He just cant bring himself to do it.

It is a shame.
