What are your BIGGEST fights?

Different fights have differing importance to each individual fan, i.e. a Kiwi featherweight title fight has far less importance to me than Degale-Groves for instance. With that in mind, the imminent Haye-Klitschko is the the BIGGEST fight I've been around for and the fight I've had most anticipation for (Froch-Pascal, Haye-JMM come fairly close, honourable mentions to Ricky-Floyd, Bruno-Tyson).

What's your BIGGEST fight to date? The fight you've had most anticipation for?

(I was jumping around shadow boxing and shouting abuse at Wlad for the entire length of last nights Countdown, show I'm like a 3 year old kid the day before Christmas  ...... I'm in my mid thirties  )

COME ON HAYE!!!!

For me the fights that have had me stoked up with anticipation were:

McGuigan V Pedroza - unreal interest in that fight in the UK. Much more than Haye V Wlad. But that was down to it being shown on BBC.

Eubank V Watson II - as far as I was concerned Michael was going to chase Eubank out of the ring. Again ITV.

Benn V McClellan - 2 punchers threatening to leave it all in the ring. Unfortuneately that was the case. I thought I was gonna have a heart attack in the first round with the excitment

No worries, I wasn't being nasty about it, I make more mistakes on here than anyone else.

Holmes – Ali (was a sort of rumble in the background when I was a kid)
Holmes – Cooney (a big deal and my first real experience of the build up etc…)
Hagler – Hearns (the whole build up just captured my imagination, bought my first copy of The Ring when they were on the cover)
Hagler – Leonard
McGuigan - Pedroza
Starling - Honeyghan
Chavez – Taylor
Chavez - Whittaker
Fenech – Nelson

One time I got in a fight on the school bus with a guy called Ben Tetley after he stole my school bag. That was my biggest fight - about 30 ppl on the bus were all watching!

Boxing-wise probably:

Lewis-Tyson
Froch-Abraham
Hatton-Mayweather
Hatton-Tsyzu
Calzaghe-Lacy

In that order. Although it didn't live upto expectations, my "hype" and anticipation for Abraham-Froch was super high. I'd been waiting for that fight to happen since the super six was announced and I was sure it would be a war. In the end, we didn't get a war but I was happy to see Froch put on a clinic.

Hatton v Castillo was one of the biggest for me as it was my first Vegas fight. Clearly it wasn't the biggest fight of his career (or even that year) but i couldn't miss any of the build up in the weeks before, saving the pennies for the big bet before going in and finding the right gear to wear on fight night! The weigh-in and pre-parties were immense and while the fight wasn't exceptional, i really had the buzz going for it when we sat down (the free beers helped) as it finally dawned on me that a wrong result could really see me miserable for a couple of days after spending a fortune to get out there.

Eubank & Benn fights also stand out as i was pretty young but my grandad got me into them all.

Haye v Mormeck too for similar(ish) reasons to Hatton fight but this was a bit different as i only saw a handful of English people out there, the taxi driver had no idea how to get to the arena and finally a knockdown followed by getting up and getting the KO made for a weekend i won't forget

The Ricky Hatton vs Floyd Mayweather was pretty MAJOR a few years back...
And (for me anyway) so was Joe Calzaghe vs Mikael Kessler.

I think for me my most memorable fight is Nigel Benn v Michael Watson.

Just could not believe it and the fight was bloody good too.

Also I think Frank Bruno v Oliver McCall

Was that when the early clash of heads stopped the fight?

I think Tyson-Bruno I and Benn-Eubank II were two of the most anticipated fights in this country. They has mass appeal.

Good shouts, I was only young, but clearly remember these. Was at a party for Benn-Eubank and the party emptied when the fight started and all the blokes werein the vault watching the fight on a small TV in the corner. no one could move it was manic.
