Haye's legacy and future........

...... SHOULD he get squashed in under 4 rounds tomorrow?
This fight has built up nicely, and Haye, without really convincing as a heavyweight as yet has been built up as a geniune geniune threat to the Klitchsko dominance - but if this proves to be a false threat on Saturday what does this do to Haye's legacy.
Is it somewhat of a Audley Harrison situation being developed - albeit at a different scale and ability level - an unproven, but hyped as a geniune danger - odd continually dropping - it seemed like all the bad things the British press said about Audley was forgotton in the build up.... then knifes were well and truly out. Will it be the same for Haye, who at least proved himself the man at Cruiserweight.
Naturally if Haye gets pummelled, I don't think a match with Vitali would be a seller - but would people start to wonder if he is even the #3 best Heavyweight. Will people start to tip Adamek, Povetkin, Chagaev or even Arreola against him.

Just intrigued, I don't think even those who predicted Audley vs Haye was a waste of time and predicted the outcome (there were a good many) could guess the amount hate and knifes being out as soon as the fight was stopped - that lasted days.
Audley (with the help of Sky) set himself up for a big fall.....

I'm not so sure. He most have got nearly £1m. That can buy a fair bit of shame.

Well seeing as this is the most likely result its worth disscussing.
No one can take away Haye's CW accomplishments and he will still have credibility but for a few weeks at least he'll take alot of flak and people will say he was overated, and yes at HW he is overated, but it will also leave me thinking he could have done more at Cruiser, got a nice string of defences and cemented a proper legacy there.
The other problem is that the celebrity side of things have been upped, Sky doing these shows with Haye and other celebrities trying to make him a household name, so should he win they can do enourmous money on a Vitali fight, but if Haye gets smashes (likely outcome) it could turn alot of people off him.
He'll be remembered as a decent fighter, a good CW that just couldn't cut it against the HW elite.

After all his trash talking, he's upset a lot of people Brits included who prefer a galant loser. He would struggle to get his chat show slots and sky one specials on the back of a anihalation. Only way to secure his legacy would be to try and get a shot at vitali or adamek winner, and beg for another shot at Wlad. You got to admire his balls and brashness as it's really put everything on the line for his legacy.
