David Haye...........The conclusions

So.............David lost on points

No shame in losing to klitschko, who got the tactics right for this fight

Regardless of the injury that Haye has mentioned, i dont think it would have affected the outcome

For me Klitschko was just too big and too busy for Haye. Haye just couldnt get around the left jab and only managed to upset Klitschko at the end of a round when he was prepared to give it a go for the last 20 seconds. Haye was very cautious about opening up on Klitschko, he knew Klitschko had the power to hurt him, knew he would be susceptible to the right hand and felt early on the power in that left jab. Haye threw caution to the wind slightly in the last round and some will say that he should have adopted those tactics from the start, but i dont go along with that, because Klitschko looked very sharp from the opening bell and it would have been too risky.

In the end, Klitschko was too big for Haye and played out the right tactics. He used the left jab effectively and was very busy from the opening bell, keeping Haye off balance and not giving him room or time to think. Haye couldnt find an answer to Klitschko's jab and in reality, he was always going to lose the fight if he wasnt prepared to throw the huge bombs at Klitschko and in doing so, risk getting knocked out. The tactics of Valuev would never work against Klitschko and the fights against Ruiz, Barrett and Harrison were no preperation for a seasoned heavyweight like Klitschko.

Sorry mate. Haye was never a great fighter.

He didn`t stay at cruiser long enough to cement anything. It was a real smash and grab at that division ... and he tried an even quicker job at heavyweight.
To some extent he succeeded. He got the big pay day. Such a shame he is too thick to have turned the volume down once the deal was done ... he has made a fool out of himself with his silly childish big boasts ... that he failed to even attempt at trying.

It turned out pretty much what I expected. However, I thought Wlad would get more positive as the fight went on after giving David a boxing lesson. Then KO him in the later rounds. Wlad just fights too negative but he was so far in front there was no point going for it really.

He could have stayed at cruiser and dominated for years.

the fact that he wanted to push himself should be a seen as a good thing .

didn't work out obviously, but he tried
Imagine if he had defended against know nobodys for 5 years, then what would people say.

For get the so call injury the Haye team went into the fight without any game plan,Any one who knows anything about boxing knows Haye should had gone out from the first round to try and take Klitschko out of his game plan
Team Haye were in there for the money not to win or the fame,Adam Booth has use the same plan for everyfight he has just be lucky up to now.

Exactly as I imagined. Haye has no legacy and I am sick of hearing about it. Thanks Wlad.

No he wouldn`t have. He didn`t have the chin.

And did he really try that hard?

The conclusions are he wasn't good enough. All excuses are BS I thought he would win but Wlads clearly the better man.

I tried to tell you all.....

Haye is a decent fighter, but not one of the top 5 HWs in the world. He got completely outclassed tonight.

I think more is being made of the height difference than need be. He hurt Wlad in the last round when he took a risk and got in close, and he was the same height then as the first 11 rounds. He's 3 inches shorter than Wlad which obviously makes a difference but the way people talk about the height it's like he was giving away a foot.

I think the real difference was that Wlad is simply a better technical fighter, and that Haye's strategy was all wrong. It was the Valuev fight all over again which was never going to work this time.

Haye still hasn't shown me anything to suggest he was Wlad's toughest challenge to date and I've never understood the hype about this fight (which I said on here many times before tonight).

If Haye retires tomorrow do we really know how good (or bad) he actually is as a heavy? His career and PR has been managed so effectively that people were calling this a pick em when most people from outside the UK seemed to expect quite a straightforward Wlad win or even a mismatch. The best win on his record at HW if he retires now would be against an old and worn Ruiz.

Funny how those tipping Wlad, all tipped to win by KO, some by early KO. So spare us the 'I told you....' stuff.

You picked a winner out of 2 guys, hopelessly incorrect about how it was going to be done.

Well, I would like to see Wladimir Klitchsko defending his title outside of Germnay. That would be a start.

But as for Haye, very disappointing result, maybe a rematch in London?

complete non performance, you dont win by throwing 15 punches a round.
once vlad realised the left hook big right could be negated by pushing down..no plan b.

Outclassed? That's a bit strong... Yes, Klitchsko won the fight.
But Haye does have the tools (power & speed) to beat Klitchsko.
I'd like to see Klitchsko fight outside of Germnay, he gives himself every advantage.

Look to my earlier posts. I said Wlad on points.
Which in all fairness wasn`t that mystically predicted ..

Mute point, but most picked Wlad by KO and a brutal one at that.

terrible - did he throw a punch, after that he shouldn't box again - go back to his acting career/or go to his acting career - shocking I'm so glad I didn't travel to hamburg, he was there for the payday - sellout! Bigmouth south london pr*ck, that's my conclusion.

Dissapointed Haye didn't pull the victory off but he did ok and had his moments and even took the big shots well. He also made Wlad miss alot and i do think his toe which looked busted up if not broken probably took away some of his effectiveness.

Probably not a popular view but I would actually like to see a rematch in october, maybe it wasn't close enough to justify that as i had it about 9-3/8-4 in rounds at the most but would like to have a result where either man is knocked out.

If not a rematch with Wlad and i doubt Vitali will bother now as he's already got Adamek lined up in September, i could probably only see a fight with TYSON FURY in october if he beats Chisora as that would be the only fight that could sell some PPV's in Britain.

I think outclassed is about right. Haye never looked like he was in control of his offense. I was interested to read Lennox say he throws punches-in-bunches cos he absolutely doesn't.

His defence actually was pretty good, the stats will be the judge but I bet Wlad missed a lot in the first 6 at least.

Size was the big problem, both in the persistant pushing down and the inability to get inside the jab.
