I think this was his career-defining fight and he fell short and it'll be hard to get back up for it again and he's been shown to be beatable. I don't think he'd fair much better with Vitali after this.

I think he will wake up in the morning feeling very empty and that he has something to prove. Yes he has the option of retiring and spending his millions but will he want to be remembered in the same vein as Audley?

Can't see him making it in the movie biz, he could just retire with his millions but I think down the line he would regret it, I mean winning isn't everything in this sport, other fighters have tried to rebuild and have another go at it and some did well some failed but they got some respect from trying.

What I don't wanna see though is him landing another mega fight against Vitali straight away, he would have to earn it in my books by beating some decent top 10 heavys, beat 3-4 top guys and then either retire or try and have one last go.

Though it would have to be about boxing, improving his resume and not more hype trying to just pocket as much cash as possible.

He never beat a top ten heavy apart from Valuev who Holyfield beat

I am 75% to 80% certain that David Haye shall retire on October 13th which is his 31st birthday marking 20 years in the fight game, as junior and senior amateur and world champion in the paid ranks. But the reason I am not saying I am 100% confident that Haye will retire on the day he has publicly stated in the media, because too many times we have seen fighters proclaim when they are going to retire but carry on or come back because they urinated their money up the wall and/or snorted it up their noise, miss the adulation of the ring, owe millions to the tax man etc, we have seen and heard it all, so I reckon Haye may not retire.

Unless he gets badly knocked out ( and his chin was about the only good thing you could say about his performance last night ) I'm pretty sure he'll still be boxing in 2 or 3 years time.

He loves the aclaim and thrill of it all too much, to leave it while he's still in his prime. His ego wont allow it.

I always saw Vitali as the better fighter, but at 39 that may not still be the case. Cant see Haye beating either.

Maybe one fight in the UK, a fight that he can win against an opponent that people would want to see. Fury/Chisora winner at Milwall maybe, something like that, then retire I reckon.

I personally could not care either way.

He will retire, but it will be a Mayweather type retirement, with several "comebacks". He won't make it as an actor, nor will Calzaghe. It's almost disrespectful to actors to suggest he would.

If he'd stayed at cruiser I think he would've beaten Bell, Cunningham, Adamek and anyone else who wanted a crack. He can't turn back time to patch those gaps.

Holyfield was only a cruiser for four years, but I think his progress against Qawi showed he was ready to move up, and once he did he was fighting respectable names early doors.

I think he'll fight Vitali Klitschko in December or early 2012.

Haye needs to call a Press conference in London for Tuesday and apologise to all the British fans who went out to Germany and watched the PPV for not winning, play humble and talk about boxing as a kid and his dreams of being world heavyweight champion and how he wasn't happy with his performance against Wlad and owe's it to them to give it one more go so he can make up for his last fight. Don't talk about the 'toe' although he can talk a bit about how an 'injury' effected his training but not use that as an excuse.

Say how he wants to fight Vitali and that he'll go out on his shield this time. I reckon that fight can be made if he takes a massive drop in his earnings but he could still make around £5 million and sell 250,000 ppvs.

More like £500K and cut of ppv - if he is lucky.

That is still 3 times more than Chisora was offered and - like Haye - he has not belt and was a voluntary.
