Sorry everyone, I know that you are all interested in that no-show from Haye but...

Pro boxing is illegal in Sweden but I am sure that there is a couple of top Swedish boxers around at the moment (obviously fighting out of elsewhere) can you please remind me of their names as my mind has gone blank!!??

Cheers

Yeah I looked at that but I was looking for someone in particular. He is Swedish but fights out of a different country due to Swedish laws. He may even hold a belt? Pretty good boxer.

I apologise that I am being vague but I have a friend from Sweden and I was talking to him about boxing but couldn't for the life of me remember the lads name.

Robert Helenius was born in Stockholm, do you mean him? As far as I know he identifies as Finnish though.

Pro boxing was indeed banned in Sweden from the end of 1969 but returned albeit on an irregular basis, in January 2007.

I remember reading how pro boxing came back in sweden but headguards were worn and the maximum rounds a fight could go was something like 6 rounds so no wonder it's re-emergence never took off.

Pro boxing is banned in Norway, but I didn`t think it was still banned in Sweden.

It's legal up to 12 minutes per bout, so either 4x3 or 6x2 rounds maximum.

Patrick Bogere who represented Sweden in the olympics, beat Mcclosky and O'donnell in the Ams and many thought he beat Young Mutley in the pros, but decision went against him. Karlo Tabaghua beat highly rated big puncher Jackson Osei Bonsu
Atila Levin is the most experienced.

Does Patrick Bogere not fight on a BBBoC license ? I thought he was managed by an British manager based in Sweden until recently ? He is signed to McClorry Sports as far as I know and few other good Swedish boxers are with Jason as well.

He is probably talking about George Scott who fought for the IBF light welterweight title.

He flirted with First Team Promotions in the Midlands, that's how he got a shot at Young Mutley, had a manager from sweden who I believe was a Brit, but since he dislocated his shoulder has not been heard of since.

That explains Aliaksei Kabazau's fight latest fight that took place in Sweden a few weeks ago.

He said "at the moment". Nobody stands out currently in Sweden, off the top of my head.

Are you thinking about Attila Levin? he's probably the most famous boxer to come out of Sweden in the last 10 years. Although i'd probably say the boxer you're trying to think of is Badou Jack http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

he's a highly rated super middleweight prospect but maybe it's not him either.

I do think there will be an explosion of young hungry boxers coming out Sweden over the next 10 years and maybe even 1 or 2 worlds champions too.
