Positives for Haye: Vitali's feet and hands have slowed a lot, he's easier to hit than Wlad, he can mark up with tender skin, his left is often very low and his reflexes not amazing.

Negatives for Haye: The obvious one being that Vitali's got a chin as tough as a train, his jab can be so un-orthodox and awkward, his right hand is a lot more clinical than Wlad's.

I'm not saying I think it'll happen because Haye's retirement and injury situations, the contract issues and Vitali apparently having signed to fight Adamek make this very unlikely but I was just wondering everyone's opinion on it?

Vitali is starting to creek but he is a lot more busier and hurtful than Wlad.

Haye simply does not throw enough to be competitive, so in my opinion, that would be a bad, bad match based on last nights dismal performance.

Even this older slower Vitali walks down & through timid -Haye.

But..

Haye simply doesn't deserve the title oppurtunity. Even more so after last nights pathetic showing.

Who deserves a shot at Vitali more than Haye? I would say Valuev, Adamek and Helenius, but that is about it.

He was crap against Wladimir, but he is still one of the best in the division.

Really like David Haye. But Vitali would be a hardy nite than Wlad. Lennox retired after the war they had. and being honest the fite stopped on cuts when for me lennox looked dun at end of round 6. Vitali Would have got Ivan Drago part in Rocky 4 If he had been round then. That uppercut he got off lennox still makes me cringe. Like a piece of iron. For me vitali slighty better even though Wlad Improved plenty. Oh Someone like David Price would be interesting.Adios

Haye struggles with bigger men. He is a counter puncher who finds it difficult to get in other than trying to leap in. It worked against Audley, but he struggled against valuev and lost decisively last night.

Haye would likely get KTFO but i wouldnt put it passed him to box a perfect fight to win on points

Really? Based on what? His scintillating performance last night, or his great fight against Valuev.

Haye has clearly been found out now - even to his most loyal followers.
He got the title chances based purely on his trash talk. Let him fight the other poor contenders out there before we claim he is `still one of the best in the division` ... because he didn`t prove this before.
Let him fight amongst Adamek, Solis, Arreola, Povetkin or Chambers for a chance next time. I`m pretty sure he would get found out by atleast half of them.

Its blatantly clear. Haye is a level atleast down from the Klitschko brothers ... it looked as if even he knew this on Saturday night also by his reluctance to commit against Wlad.

Vitali would probably KO Haye. Still, I'd give Haye a shot on taking a points victory since Vitali is slowing down abit.

But as Wlad demonstrated against Haye - or should that be - Haye demonstrated against Wlad..

You gotta be a certain standard for haye to shine - or should that be sub-standard

Vitali would walk down and through haye. Vitali would make haye fight more than Wlad did .. and that would make Haye panic even more than he did against Wlad ... haye would be throwing himself out of the ringn not just onto the canvas within a round or two.

What has he shown to make him one of the best in the division? Do you not have to beat someone in the top 10 to be considered one of the best? (I'm assuming Valuev is not top 10).

Vitali to beat him easily.

Haye does not deserve anything, he needs to either fight his way in or retire. I think he will retire.

I think Valuev has been shown up a bit recently (imo old man Holyfield really beat him), but I accept he was in the ten at the time of the Haye fight.

I was meaning (and didn't make it clear enough) to be currently considered 'one of the best in the division' then surely you would need to have beaten at least someone in the current top 10.

I'm just struggling to understand why loads of people are saying Haye is one of the very top guys in the division when he hasn't shown anything at all at HW to justify that. I think in any sport you should have to prove you are one of the best before you can be considered that.

Even if Haye did land, it wouldn't really do much, Vitali is iron chinned. It's going to take more than a single shot to knock him on his arse.

I only look at their record and their stats and form my judgement from that and that alone. The only time I may deviate is if a fighter's skin appears almost translucent at the weigh in.

Yeah true mate...an intense night, was on the edge of my seat despite - in hindsight - it not being much of a spectacle.

I'm still so impressed by the speed and focus Wlad showed.

Agree David did show himself up; seemed to have no plan B. Couldn't get inside at all, was wanging away with big hooks when things were going against him and didn't seem willing to take a few to land a few...the majority on here thought he would blast out of the blocks, or at least from round 3/4 onwards, and land big shots to take Wlad out.

Was a clinic. Have been a big critic of the Klits but Wlad showed that when the level of opposition improves then so does he. Full credit to the man.

As for Haye - where the hell does he go from here?
