is it true wlad doesnt do any running??
Some fighters don't do road work they just do sprints I remember on a FightCamp 360 seeing Carl Froch doing sprints.batch wrote:Yeah it was on the Behind the Ropes thing on Sky. He does resistance work in the pool instead of road work.

I've helped boxers out in the past with training and used swimming. It'd be front crawl all the way for me. Use hypoxic breathing. ie breathe every 4/5/6/7 strokes.rob h wrote:Do any Pro's here use swimming? If so can you give us a quick insight into your workout.

mate i *think* a higher lactate threshold simply means lactic acid enters the muscles relatively later. I don't think it's pain tolerance as such, IE can you run for longer than i can with a broken little toe, much as preventing lactic acid from interfering with the muscle's proper working (muscles are less efficient when in a lactic state)jamesmcdonnell wrote:

Therefore, the greater a percentage of your VO2 Max you can get your lactate threshold line to be the better (sport dependent).
A marathon runner will be at around 85-90% so they can run almost flat out for huge distances without having to back off.
A sprinter will be at a much, much lower percentage, hence he can run close to flat out for a very limited period of time.
