can you think of any measures to make boxing more exciting??

longer minutes & less rounds to insure better dust up's??

they stopped the 15 rds & it seems normal.with athletes evolving should the sport to insure safety measures??

If you have a winning record of like 7-0 up wards you cannot box anyone with a losing record. You must take the step up. I totally agree with protecting your prospects and young lads until they find there feet but I feel that with more evenly matched bouts you will get more exciting bouts.

I think the amount of rounds is fine but I am sure if both camps agreed before the bout that it could be 4x4s just as an experiment to see if it becomes sucessfull

Disagree with you there Dougie, the likes of Peter McDonough would really struggle to get fights and it would probably mean more foreign imports with decision enough records

I see what you mean Alex but guys like McDonough, Lee Noble, Mickey Convey are capable of beating guys that are 1-0 up to 8-0 but anything after that they most of the time fall short. The idea would see these guys getting more fights against up and comming guy which would benifit both boxers 1) it would benifit the up and comming lad because they would be tested against guys who are hard to get rid of and would give them the round which you can only benifit from. 2) it would be good for the Journeymen type because they could use there experience and under rated boxing skills to get a win aginst the less experienced guy. A few wins for guys like McDonough would turn there record into a winning one. Does that make sense cause it sounds better in my head haha

Prospects should learn in the fekking gym and not ask us to pay to watch 90/10 contests.

15 rounds isn't a safety measure, it's making a championship distance fight fit into an hours programming. One guy died in the 80's and they jump at the chance to shorten fights. Well if that's the logic how long did Leavander Johnson's ill-fated final contest last and why hasn't the number of rounds been reduced accordingly?
Big gloves are more dangerous. In a round about way I cite the word right-honourable Mr. Stephen Fry according to whose program there was not a single recorded fatality in the bare-knuckle era as a punch to the head would result in a broken hand far more quickly than a damaged brain. If that is incorrect then you should take it up with him, I suggest you don't as he's a very well spoken man. I myself have no desire to be corrected.


So anyway, keep the modern medical whatnots and referees who (broadly speaking) stop fights a bit sooner but basically go back to the 1940's (minus the more overt than now mob involvement) with their scorn for holding and spoiling, a single title per sensible number of divisions and genuine competition.

how about razor blades on the gloves, and flowers that squirt water on the rims of the trunks?

i just wish there was 1 belt in each weight class, other than that i'm happy.
