Absolutely fantastic performance. He proved a lot tonight. Not many gave him a chance. Really impressive stuff. Different class to Murray.

I said that mitchell would win today. I put a bet on round 11 stoppage. Thought he would mark him up and that ref would step in. Wasn't too far off.

Ye he fought a very good fight, his combinations were sharp and his left uppercut was very good!! Showed great heart and desire to stick in their with Murray, surprised he had the power to get him out of there

I had it level going into that round, which just shows how weird scoring is because Mitchell was on top.

Great performance from the lad, really impressive :TU:

Murray thought he could walk through him. He was wrong.

Cracking fight. Murray is strong, fit and determined, and if someone can teach him to move his fuckin' head he can come again. Good on Mitchell. No idea whether or not he's a chief as a person, but I like him as a fighter. Decent skills, bit of a dig, likes a tear up and as game as they come - what's not to like?

Even the RBR guys thought Mitchell couldn't live with the pressure and strength of Murray. He proved us all wrong. Well done to come back after a long absence and a devastating defeat and so many problems outside the ring. Nobody can begrudge him this. Kept his cool throughout all the prep and did the business on the night. A great story in British boxing.

Huge respect to Mitchell for that one.

I wanted Murray to win, and thought he would as well. Like a lot of others, I just saw Murray being too strong and too determined for Mitchell. But I think we've all been proved wrong tonight.

From the get go, Mitchell was finding the angles and openings and landing the cleaner shots. And the cumulative effect of them obviously took their toll. And while Murray himself was throwing a lot of punches, and landing a fair few as well, I just got the impression that he didn't quite have the nous to really nail Mitchell like Mitchell was nailing him.

Like a lot of Sky Sports armchair fans, i've been following Mitchell's career for a long time now, and it was clear that he always had silks and skills. But I think tonight he also confirmed - although it was evident in the Johanneson fight as well - that he has plenty of grit, determination and steel to go with it.

I'll be more than interested to see where he goes from here.

Mitchell gained my respect tonight. I still think he showed some of the flaws that were there in the Katsidis fight, taking punches pretty clean at times. But he proved that at euro level he is pretty much the man at lightweight.

i saw it coming with murray after his last fight he has no plan b, he realises on toughness. I wasnt sure mitchell was going to be the one to take advantage of it, i knew he had the skills and power but thought his chin might not be up to the job.

Jimmy Tibbs = Legend. Great coach, great tactics. Against walk forward fighters you can't just box them, you need to hurt them and Mitchell fought when he had to and boxed when he had to. Great performance.

I hope he can win a world title but I think he'll always be small for the LW division.

The move to Warren hasn't really worked out for Murray has it!

Couldn't be happier for Mitchell. It didn't look too good at the start but there was a moment I think about round 5 that Kevin winked at his corner. It was like he knew that he'd seen the best of Murray by that point and it was only going to become easier.

Too many people mugged him off after the Katsidis fight. Mitchell is class. He's obviously not the best lightweight at world level, but matched correctly, he'll make a nice few quid and have a very good career. Over the moon for him.
