I feel really sorry for Burns after that fight he had obviously trained well and hard, but to be met by that is frankly embarassing from Warren. Burns must be getting mighty annoyed at Warren with his last three offerings. He really needs to bring in an opponent who could challenge Burns and show what a good fighter he is.
For me Burns is the best SFW in the world IMHO now he needs to get the fights to show it

He's a good boxer but he's not a first sentence world champion - under lightweight in boxing nobody cares about anything else.

Yes it was unlucky but he agreed to the fight - like he did against the featherweight norwegian-columbian and the unknown ghanian.

The struggle for Burns is the WBA and WBC champs are from Japan and they don't recognise the WBO so the only unification chance is has is with the IBF and the super feather division isn't stacked with big names. I feel for Burns, he's a nice kid and has come on leaps and bounds but he's always gonna struggle for recognition in his weight division due to the lack of names around.

Yeh, looking on the bright side he got the easiest payday of his life, but I'm sure that's not really in his mind right now. Frustrating and I do feel for him a bit as I think he is a decent all rounder, 7/10 in all areas. Needs to fight someone better soon though as the Martinez memories are fading fast!

The World Boxing Organization (WBO), established in Puerto Rico in 1988, took longer to acquire credibility. By 2001, the WBA was giving the same recognition to WBO champions as to WBA, WBC and IBF champions. In 2004 the WBC began naming WBO champions on its ranking listings. The IBF did not recognise the WBO in May 2006, but was doing so by February 2007. Conversely, the WBO explicitly recognises the other three sanctioning bodies
