Wasnt Warren on Bunces show on Thursday night saying how well tickets had sold ?

Didnt really notice on the TV how many, or how few, might have been there.

I'm sure the 3,000 in attendence paid alot more for the boxing, than the 'punters' did for darts, I mean how much were ringside seats last night? Surely a ringside seat at the darts is a fiver (obviously with a free marker pen and white paper) - double that of the general admission. I bet they took abit more over the bar at the darts though.

Warren shows are over priced thats why it was not full also it was not really a good bill untill Murray fight got added. Cook v Burns should never have been a world title. Burns should be fighting in Scotland in front of his own fans.
Also on previous bills in the Echo it was Smith who got the fans in not Bellew.

Darts also far cheaper to stage though presumably, so margin is almost certainly better on darts.

I reckon there was between three and four thousand there last night.

I guess one thing that doesn't help for shows like these without a marquee name is that many spectators come to see one fighter then just disappear into town for the night. We arrived before Heffron's fight and left just after Mitchell stopped Murray.

It seemed a good show on paper but didn't quite deliver, Allegedly needs to get his men more active. Bellew hadn't fought for 7 months, Gavin has only had 11 fights in nearly three years.

It was only two thirds full..... Great show and all. Maybe they've finally succeeded in pissing off every single domestic boxing fan.

I can only speak for myself, but I'm just totally fed up with last minute pull outs, dodgy officiating etc.

Boxing isn't cheap so I expect a certain standard of entertainment and for the event to deliver what it offers.

Yeh it's the price vs card thing that's keeping me out of some shows, the 'value' if you will. I'm not made of money right now so anything over £60-£70 then the show has to be something pretty special for me.

Thing with the Echo Arena is it's quite small in arena terms so there is usually a good atmos no matter what the attendance is.

I went for Quigley v Dodson in 2009 and there were large sections of it closed off with curtains but it was still a decent turn out and quite loud. The floor space is really small in comparision to say the MEN or Sheffield Arena so all the seats are closer together.

I'm always a bit wary of Liverpool shows, being a Manc.

Also, its getting harder and harder to persuade friends its worth paying for.

Boxing is a very expensive sport to follow these days as in order to get a good seat you generally pay through the nose. In these economic times, people just can't afford to spend a lot of money for what often turns out to be a disappointment. I'm a lawyer and earn a very high salary compared to the average guy but the last few shows I've been to (Haye v Fraudley, Haye v Klitschko and McDermott v Larry) have not represented good value for money and I'm almost certain that I wouldn't travel abroad again for a show unless someone spectacular comes along. Probably only Mayweather v Pac would be the only fight that would tempt me.

All in all, boxing is overpriced and is becoming more detached from the average guy.

can't believe Hearn is tweeting comments like that, wasn't he not at Barkers last fight at Olympia, a lot of empty seats, no way a sell out. I think he needs to engage brain before opening his mouth or tweeting or he will end up looking very very stupid.

was a piss poor atmosphere tbh nothing like the last few arena shows but thats prob due to fighters being from here there and everywhere, the entertaining part was after murray was stopped everyone was abusing murrays supporters who then caused a mini riot
