Beginners Footwork

OK I've only just started learning to box and I've got the grasp of moving left, right, forward and back.

Thing is though, I'm rigid to fornicate doing it with no flow whatsover. When shadow boxing, I only move forward / back / left and right.

Can anyone recommend good drills to practice? I skip and watch videos but it just doesn't feel right.

Cheers all.

I'm only just starting out myself but what I do find helpful is to start off by bouncing, just left to right, gentle movements. then switch into a stance and bounce your weight from one foot to the other, then incorporate that into your shadow boxing, bouncing the weight forward as you jab for eg. Above all do what feels natural, if you find after a while that a movement still feels forced, look for another way of moving that feels more comfy.

Cheers mate.

Tried bouncing but that feels weird as fornicate. Will persist with it though.

Just tried moving where the opposite leg moves first and I seem to move quicker with that. Is that bad form or not? Eg if moving backwards my front leg will slightly move backward first.

Apologies this is basic shit but don't want to pick up bad form.
