Why do the fights down under (Australia) seems to be mid week ???

I seem to recall Green & Mundine having majority of their fights mid week when fighting in their own back yard.

In Australia, it is traditional for the big fights to be on a Wednesday - for it not to clash with the Aussie rules or the rugby which is played on the weekend. (And gets the crowds in) Also, In Australia - the big fights were traditionally open air because of the nice weather and were fought in stadiums which were not in use during the week.

Leonard-Hearns was on a Wednesday. Wonder why they stopped doing it, I like midweek fights (in the right timezone). Is it TV, to make it available to more countries? (as people are more likely to stay up on the weekend).

Traditionally, boxing is a mid-week thing. Ali-Foreman was held on a Wednesday night.

Green got stopped end of 9th his corner stopped it. Watched bits of it he was dire. Magic Man is back!

I do love a good midweek fight. Surprised how easily Tarver handled Green's size and strength

a lot of the matchroom shows were on a tuesday i liked them as you'd get the right up in the boxing news on the friday lol
