I'm the first to admit I was never a Amir Khan fan. I couldn't stand all the hype around him as an amateur, that he was going to be the greatest fighter ever, blah blah blah. As a pro he looked very quick, but I thought he lacked power, had a dodgy chin and was being fed a diet of average fighters, who when he beat he was being written about like he was the second coming of Sugar Ray Leonard.

When he was kayoed I thought he had been found out, however I have to hand it to the fella he is proving me wrong. My opinion changed quite recently with his win over Maidana, I thought he fought a great fight and proved his chin wasn't as bad as I thought.

So anyone else's opinion changing from bad to good?

In the ring he has made vast improvements, stronger and more business like.

Cant pick holes in his performance last night. He was fast, strong and determined.

Shame the same can't be said for his opponents.

I have alot more respect for him after the Maidana fight. He proved alot of doubters in that fight. His talent can never be questioned he has everything except genuine knock out power. I'm suprised how early he stopped Judah yet Matthyse went the distance. He's calling out Mayweather but that's a long way away. Fair play to him he's bounced back amazingly.

Since going to Freddie Roach he has improved vastly. Offensively he was always incredible but now his defence, fitness and chin seem to have all improved. Bit more weight on the legs and around the neck have done the trick it seems. Scary to think he is still so young too. Hopefully a fight with Tim Bradley awaits.

I like Khan as a fighter and I think he comes accross as an ok lad but I take his arrogance when it comes to being a ppv fighter as a big problem.

i like his skills, i respect him as a fighter, but the supporters he attracts seem to cause trouble, i dont like that one bit...

I've been a fan from the start. He's easily the most talented fighter we've produced in a long time and he's doing a good job of fulfilling his talent.

I don't think he's overly arrogant either. He's just very confident with a little bit of bite as well. Nothing wrong with that. I'd rather support someone like Khan and Froch for that matter over guy's like Hatton and Calzaghe who played the nice guy routine while feeding us large amounts of s**t.

I also agree with this

The biggest thing is that I have more confidence in his chin now, the rest of his skill set is very impressive.

And leaving W arren has meant he has a profile in the States, if he hadn't he'd be defending the title against the weakest possible opposition on home soil for years on end. Now if he gets his head around the fact that he's only a PPV fighter against a top tier opponent I think we have someone to be proud of.

Nobody can seriously doubt he is the best skilled British boxer we got.

He has become a far better fighter than i once thought he would, so in that respect he's proved me wrong. His talent was always obvious, but i thought he would be lacking in the chin department and the mental mental side of it at world level. That was probably to do with the fact that he was just a young kid, he really has grown so much over the last few years both mentally and physically.

I think it was around 2008 when there was a good call for a Hatton fight, back then i'd have taken Hatton comfortably. I'd likely have been proved wrong, and the Khan of today would likely beat any version of Hatton.

After last nights performance i see Khan as one of the biggest threats out there to Mayweather.

I thought Khan would get found at world level, but the Khan that fought Gomez, Earl, Prescott et al is a different fighter today........

Khan is a very good fighter, has good skills, fast hands and has proved that he belongs at world level, no question at all on that !!

My only thought is that you cant look at his performances against Kotelnik, Malignaggi, Maidana and now Judah and say that he is in the same league as Mayweather and Pacquiao. Kotelnik was very average, Malignaggi and Judah have both seen better days and were never quite top level fighters and in my opinion it was more luck that Maidana didnt Knock Khan out in that 10th round........nothing more !!

He has improved dramatically and no-one would have thought he was capable of beating the likes of Maidana, Malignaggi and Judah, when he was getting put on the canvas by super featherweights and avoiding the likes of Romanov and John Murray at European and domestic level respectively. He now deserves to be called a world level fighter and a very good one at that, but as for being the best and being a future p4p champion, he has some way to go before that accolade can be hung around his neck.

For me, Khan has to fight Bradley, then Alexander and give a re-match to Maidana, before moving up to welterweight. He still hasnt cleaned out the 140lbs division, so i dont like talk of him fighting the has been Eric Morales or even our own Kell Brook.

I find the whole "bit of a twat" type comment a little presumptuous, and arguably tinged with racism.

The few times I've met him, he has been a perfectly nice guy, and there aren't many within the game that are rude about him. The Vegas CEOs like him a lot.

Ditto. You don't hear that from people that know him.

For all the people claiming he's "so arrogant so I will never be a fan" ...surely this applies to Carl Froch as well then? He's hardly Mr.Humble. I just can't see what it is about Khan that rubs people up the wrong way so much. Except perhaps his origins and/or religion.

I think most people see him as a nice kid. As for the supposed arrogance, its just his way of developing some media interest and self belief in what he is doing. Khan says he is special and that he feels he is one of the very best and could beat Mayweather, but what else is he supposed to say ? " Im Amir Khan, im quite average, im no where near the best and Mayweather would knock me out......" !!

I had my doubts wheather he was actually world level but he has proved he belongs there. The amount of dedication and heart he has shown in getting there is special, no doubt about it. To have everything in terms of money/family/home at this young age and still stay focused is a feat in itself.

As for arrogance, I find that most boxers are arrogant to a degree, the half dcent ones anyway, it's probably more of a self-belief thing. They always say things that could be taken as arrogance like, I am going to knock him out in so and so round bla bla, I am the best, he is ducking/avoiding me, its all arrogance at the end of the day but only some people have issue with Khan saying stuff and make a big deal about it when he opens his mouth. Doesnt bother me in the the slightest, Eubank, Naz, Haye, Froch, Mayweather, Pacman Calzaghe etc etc have all at some time in words written or spoken expressed their self belief and it may well have come across as arrogance! That's boxers for you , you never hear stuff like I am actually the 3rd best in Britain or the world do you? I think what bothers people about Khan is his success at this age and how it seems it has been handed on a plate to him and there maybe a case of that due to his silver medal and the publicity he got but the blame for that cant be laid at his feet entirely and ofcourse it is also false as he has had to pick the pieces up and work hard after Prescott defeat.

I actually thought he boxed better against Malignaggi than last night tbh. His attacks looked sloppy at times and his accuracy wasn't as good but he has definetly improved to world class and I'm sure he can stay there for some time, but as for Mayweather not for a year or two.

Most of my dislike towards Khan stems from the McCloskey PPV shambles. Rather than letting his fans watch him for free he jumped ship to Primetime to earn extra money. Absolutely nothing to do with his origins or religion.

Lost in a round, went to American and rebuilt himself and as a young prospect who is still only 24 now has a few good names on his resume and can only get better. Fair play and should be a national treasure. He's not arrogant, he's just confident, believes in himself and says what he feels but he's hardly like Naz when it comes to giving it the biggun is he... and I saw Naz turn young kids away with the flip of his hand who had ran down from the cheap seats to have their programmes autographed in his home town of all places.... I bet Khan doesn't do that.

Finally, and most importantly, when it comes to fight night, he brings it and is well prepared.

I laughed with everyone else when his first ppv ended as it did.

He was in front of the cameras giving interviews the day after his embarrassing KO loss, I thought that showed real bottle.

Now he's out in Vegas taking on dangerous fighters and beating them in exciting fashion. What's not to like? If you think he's arrogant, skip the interviews and just watch the fights!
