Of course he was stopped in the fourth round but he was scoring effectively from a distance and tieing up Tyson whenever he got in close. Holmes just didn't have the strength or quickess at 39 to excecute his plan over twelve rounds.

I think establishing the jab and firing combos before Tyson stepped in was a blueprint made long ago for him...Just sustaining it was the problem..

Precisely, in fact it's hard to over-rate how badly he fared.
