one lloyds best wins was over Rosi in Italy, this was b4 Curry and marked lloyd out as world class for me.

i always have a chukle to myself when i go to york hall and Lloyd is always there sitting on the radiatior at the back signing for people or having photo's done pure class

Fantastic fighter - fantastic times for Britain at that time at Welterweight. Amazing to thing really that we had at least 4 world class fighters at or around that weight devision at the time and only Jones and Laing fought each other.

We talk about Hatton and Witter missing each other as if it is a new thing. The Welters(ish) of the 1980's should have fought each other more than they did. I mean Laing, Jones, Marsh and Lloyd.

It just shows how good Curry was really when a man of Honeyghan's resume was given no chance against him. I think people gave Chisora more of a chance against Klitchsko than an undefeated European champion with a nice KO record against Curry.

Lloyd is very underated when it comes to "great britons" - in someways the Curry fight damages his legacy cause some extreme views call it a fluke cause of Curry's problems. Whilst's Lloyd reign was a bit shorter than we'd hoped - he demolshed Bumphus and Hatcher - two very credible challengers.... and off course Maurice "thin man" Blocker who was an excellent boxer.

Great call on the Rossi win.... looks a great performance in hindsight - Rossi proved himself an excellent champion.

I met him at the Tyson Fury show. Best dressed man as always. Dapper.

But the number of boxing fans who ran past him to get a picture with Stacey 'Bangable despite the teeth' Solomon was frightening.

And as I stood waiting to shake the mans hand and have a picture took, the number of supposed boxing fans who asked me who he was, and I'd say "Who is that? Its fkking Honeyghan!?" And they'd turn and say "Honeyghan" to their mates. Zero recognition.

But then, its 25 years ago. Gulp.
