I'm only down the road from there so I'm sure I'll make it - how will we recognise each other, a rolled up copy of the latest boxing news on the bar?

We should bring some digital cameras so we can post some shots....where is everyone coming from? Whoever everyone is that is?
Does anyone else on here worry that they are turning into a boxing inter-nerd?

It has crossed my mind mate....
I told a couple of my mates about these sites and that I was a MOD at the weekend when i was mashed and they thought I was taking the piss and ripped into me.
They didnt believe me......So i turned it round and tried to make it look like I was on a wind up.....
Im coming from Oxford st where i work so its close for me anyway.
Camera is a good idea though mate has anyone got a digital?

I'll to tube it in from Wembley where I work but I quite fancy this.
Regarding meeting up with each other, I've done it before with lads from another site and it's bloody hilarious.
We met at a pub in The Angel and I'm eyeing up groups of blokes for about 5 minutes before going up to them and asking 'don't suppose you're a boxing fan are you mate?'. Lucky I didn't get beaten up.

Don't get into town as much as I used to...
fornicate me, you work in the walkabout, those places used to drive me fornicating nuts.
I used to live right behind one in Sherpherd's bush, or even Shepherd's bush, and I had to listen to drunken fighting, girls screaming, and people bellowing 'Ozzy-Ozzy-Ozzy, Oi-Oi-Oi' till their lungs rattled and my eardrums bled.
I developed a pathalogical hatred of the walkabout and it's inhabitants after that.
Having said that I've never been in one....

Theres a Walkabout at the end of my road too, and i get the odd bunch walking past the front the house shouting at all hours of the morning too - the problem is, I'm usually one of them

I'll be there.
What time?
How will we know each other.
Shall we all wear headguards?

Once we have everyone who wants to go posted then we will sort out a time for everyone and try to figure a way we will know each other cos i aint wearing a hardhitters name tag....maybe whoever gets there first can say they are from a company then when the rest get there they just tell the barstaff they are with that company and has anyone come in yet?

I kind of like the idea of trying to figure out who is who...could be quite funny. We may get to see some unlicensed back-street fighting.
I'll give you a description, 6'3, with a big shaven nut, fairly lanky.
See now, that could result in some fisticuffs, there's a few hardnuts with shaved heads (not that I'm anything approaching a hardnut), so it could all kick off.
Then I could just sit back and watch, with me Leo Sayer style wig on.

Goddamn that's ugly
I look not entirely different from Mr McDonnell's description, maybe an inch shorter (height wise that is).

Doesn't anyone own any fight T-shirts?
I have a question - my wife has been laughing when I told her (along the lines of "are they going to be bigger Dorks than you?") and wanted to know if female presence would be actively discouraged?

Why, would she wanna come? Bring her along mate! Bit of a trek for you isn't it though Lugh?

Nah, it's only couple of hours on the M4 - we are going to Dundee this weekend - now that s a trek!
It is pretty unlikely though - I am short on leave days as it is and she wants to go away for a week in March!
Ironically she likes the fact that I chat with you guys about boxing - it means she no longer has to look interested when I say things like - "You won't believe whose won the purse bids for ........"
She usually takes a few seconds to compose a "Goodness how fascinating!" type of look and says "Why don't you get on the net then?"
She used to have to say things like "wow, that's incredible"! and so on.
I think she reckons you lot are godsends

I reckon boxrec should get -tshirt's done, I was looking into starting a t-shirt fashion label, I know some really cheap places where you can get quality t-shirts with commercial quality printing and embroidery, they can do all sorts.

What about us from boxing addicts? Do we have to get "rival" t-shirts printed

funny cos someone on boxingaddicts suggested the same thing earlier.
What we could do is discuss who is going to get there first and that person just goes upto the bar and advises the bar staff that they are here for a works drink and some guys from BA or BR are coming in and when they get here can the staff point them in your direction.
Once people start coming in and getting beers they ask where BR or BA is and hey presto they get sent over.
