Saw on the results page that on the undercard of Barboza vs Magee, that Richard Abril won a decision over 11 rounds.

Has this occurred before? Was not a technical decision as far as I'm aware as boxrec had it scheduled for 11!

I know the contender had 5 and 7 round fights and obviously prizefighter has 3 round bouts.

I remember reading about a fight in the States where one fighter wanted an eight rounder and the other a ten, so they agreed on a compromise of nine.

Sure in Cyprus its only 3 rounds?

Lee Haskins 11th round the other night was a 2 Minute Round IBF and WBA Inter Titles....

A while back the WBA (in their wisdom) decided to make all regional-title fights over 11 rounds..... I believe their reasoning at the time was to trial the idea to eliminate any draw verdicts.

(Of course, 5 rounds to each fighter and one even-round was obviously something they didn't comprehend).

The USBA used to have 13 rounds if the fight ended as a draw after 12 though it wasn't the same with their parent organisation the IBF - I have seen 11 round fights though and 9 round fights - Johnny Clark vs John McCluskey back in the 1960's was a famous 9 round fight.

Yeah, was shown on Premier sports - it was a scheduled 11 rounder - most bizarre.

Without checking, I'm pretty sure Doug DeWitt had an 11-round fight with Tony Thornton.

It was 13 rounds Bennie because that is the fight I remember also, it ended in a 12 round draw and then went another round.

I have seen a number of 11 round fights in the results section over the past few years. They always seem to be in South America or Central America (Costa Rica, Panama etc) for those Fedelatin Titles. I have also come across 9 round fights which are usually sanctioned by the WBA. Totally pointless.

Wasn't he the guy who ran over Bitzy in The Sopranos.

Sanderline Williams v Ron Essett went to 13 rounds, as the fight was a draw after 12.

Williams had a good chin, he only lost inside the distance once to Lindell Holmes, and faced a number of contenders including Graham, Barkley, Tate, Lee, Sosa, Benn, Johnson, Toney (twice).

Not to mention that 10-8 rounds similarly throw off that rationale behind an odd number of rounds.

This might have happened loads of times where one fighter wants a 10 rounder and one wants a 6 rounder.......

Samuth may have been the last to complete 15, but that's not the question. Last scheduled 15-rounder (the clue is obviously that it ended inside schedule). No idea about the heavies, but even so the last 15-rounder wasn't a HW fight.

Vinny Paz took part in a 15-rounder in 1993.

I found a 15 round fight from 2009. Search Aliaksei Kabazau.

Bennie got it (unsurprisingly!). Most people think it was the McGirt fight, but that was the last major title fight scheduled for 15. Paz-Sherry came later.

What about my 1997 fight! i'm dissapointed that the World Boxing Board title isn't being taken seriously

All of Tyson's fights were 12 rounds. Quite weird though that on a night of 2 world heavyweight championship fights - one was a 12 rounder and Douglas vs Tucker was a 15 rounder.
