Eade vs Coveney

I see that Boylesports have prices for this bout and Coveney is 4/1.

Is Eade any good and is it worth the small punt on Coveney causing another upset?

Been training with mickey a few times & Sparred a few rounds in the leed up to this fight. Last time I boxed in Ireland, finbar was on the bill. I fancy mickey to do it , he's looking fit & ready to take that title. I had a good look at finbar in case I got a job against him. Would not have been quaking in me boots if I had. Go on covenny !

Eade is very fit and busy and super pumped for this fit because all he has ever wanted to do - and the reason he turned pro - is to win an Irish title.

However, having watching Coveney against Dilmaghani and Hyland I think that 4/1 is extremely generous. The level of opposition that Eade has faced so far in his career has been pretty poor and Coveney is a decent step up.

Sweeney is 2/1 to stop Waldron. Thats a very nice price as well.

These fights will be broadcast on the Irish language channel (TG4) and also on their website.

Coveney in to 7/2 now. I still think he is value until he hits 2/1.

In to 3/1 now. Looks like punters agree with posters - or maybe the punters are the posters!

At the risk of talking to myself.

Coveney has gone from 4's to 7/2 to 3's to 9/4 in a single day.

Interesting pattern.

You can still get Sweeney for a KO win at 2/1 though.

Just read the article on the front page. It's Finbarr Eade, not Eadie.

I'm not sure about the outcome of Eade - Coveney but if it's the same Coveney that turned up to fight Pajo Hyland, Eade will have a tough night ahead of him. As for the Sweeney - Waldron fight, 2/1 for Sweeney to stop him is a great price. Well spotted, Mr. Gunning.

Kudos to TG4 for picking up the show.

How come Cruise v Murtagh is only a four rounder?

I'd have thought Cruise would have wanted an eight rounder to qualify for an Irish title shot if he wins this!

It's a considerable step up for Cruise so it was probably kept in mind that his best chance of winning was over a distance he was familiar with. Maybe a 6 rounder still would have been a good idea, but to chance going 8 when he'd never even done 6 before would of been very unwise imo.

Decent little card this, and I'm delighted TG4 have taken the chance with showing boxing. Although British posters be warned that the commentary will most likely be as Gaeilge (in Irish), not English. Although for those of you familiarised with the commentary of Jimmy Magee and Dave 'Boy' McAuley on RTÉ you may see that as a bonus.

Coveney(at 4/1)
Sweeney ko/tko/dq(at 2/1)
Coyle(1/7)
Pajo Hyland(1/7)

as an accumulator would have worked out around 18.5/1 for anyone that was interested........bit late now though

Coveney vs Eade is 50/50 for me, and Cruise vs Murtagh could go either way as well. The rest should see the home fighter come out victorious by a wide enough margin. Although I've the funny feeling Paulie Hyland could end up having a much tougher night than he should.

I've stuck a score on a Pajo Hyland decision win and Henry Coyle stoppage win. €20 returns €52.

I've also went with Sweeney to stop Waldron @ 2/1.

I couldn't make my mind up about Eade vs Coveney. Leaning slightly towards Eade decision win, should be a good scrap.

Yeah I wasnt there but it was a good fight. Most had it scored two rounds to Eade though.

Sweeney stopped Waldron as well so that came in.
