This is so sad, just a few years back he seemed in great health on ESPN2, I even remember him sparring with Joe Mesi in a segment. Very sad he had to depart this earth early but I'm glad he didn't suffer any longer.

Very good fighter and very good TV analyst for ESPN, preferred him over Atlas actually. Always remember his fight wtih Holmes when he kept saying on TV after I got thumbed in the eye! I got thumbed in the eye! RIP champ.

I REALLY enjoyed him as a TV analyst, and was also a fan when he fought.

RIP.

Very tough fighter, in 4 very tough consecutive losses in the late 70s. Was robbed blind vs Boudreaux in that ABC tournament, lost controversially to Spinks (it's been years since I've watched that so I can't render judgment on that one) and had two razor-thin wars with a past-prime Norton and Lyle (although I think the draw verdict in the Norton fight was eminently fair and the Lyle fight could've gone either way) Had good offensive skills, durability, and a great body puncher. His drawbacks were that he was fairly easy to hit and rather flat-footed, but a fine fighter who would've been top 5 in this era EASY. I would not bet against him at his best vs any HW not named Klitschko today.

I sparred a couple of rounds with Scott in 2005. He was thinking about having an exhibition with one of his former opponents. For me, a couple of rounds of sparring was better than an autograph. Sidenote: his speed wasn't great, but his stamina was . . . he went 10 rounds in a row. He was a good spokeman for boxing and a good person.

Agreed.
I wouldn't bet against a prime Scott vs. any opponent today including the Lurch brothers.

R.I.P Scott LeDoux

He will never be remembered as the greatest of all time, but there were few fighter who had more game in them.
