I'll be honest, I can really understand selling if your double skint. For.one reason or the other , at times you need a pound note or two. It is a shame though that a belt I would cut me nuts off for would sell for that. I'm a real miserable $&$/ and the fact I'm now a name. Keeps me going. If I won that belt but had to cash in, I'd feel I'd sold my sole.

anybody know whos selling sucha prized possession ? i know bobby vanzie sold his a few years back, and i heard paul lloyd did too. but why sell the most prized belt in british boxing, them belts are beautiful ! im well choked they sold the great johnny bashams belt many years ago to a multi rich yank,so that belt is now languishing in the states, why the fornicate did the board of control buy it and keep it in this country and preserve british boxing heritage, wankers !!!!

You can't really expect the board to financially support every fighter that spends he's dough & needs a few quid . Unless your lucky or have a good head , most of us will cone to a time when your on the floor & can't see an out. I live my life getting by. I've done ok in life but its easy to blame when you act a cock & don't look to the future. No one is owed a favour , make your luck or fornicate off. Bore me later

A pub on rose st in edinburgh has a lonsdale framed and mounted in the wall belonging to Brian Curvis (welter champ).
Did he sell it or does he have a connection with the pub i dont know

5k so far I thought it would only be worth around 3k max.
Just shows you.
Jimmy Vincent should have one also to sell.

Is it real ? The seller has sold a few other Boxing/UFC belts recently. Where would you source these ? Could have a side-line in snides.

That one should belong to Jimmy Vincent..... the decision was one of the worst I've ever seen.

Could not agree more mate, it makes last nights fight trivial in comparison.

Cant remember alba was with the missus for her birthday last year (I'm from ayrshire so not massively familiar with auld reekie).
Was mounted up in the wall and I'm sure it had a plaque with some info on Curvis.

I know the ref Mickey Vann bought Tom collins Belt and had it up on the wall on his ringside cafe in Leeds.

Maybe Jeff Thomas can shed some light on this. The lad who is selling it is a bodybuilder and a friend of Jeff's.
My thinking is that this belt was never fought for but bought at auction or from the manufactuers. Ricky Hatton bought one direct as he never won one outright.
Randy Turpins went for £25k but his was solid gold and porceline. The new ones are gold plated and enamel.

the lonsdale belt is the best in the world its every boxers dream to win its a shame for such a prized belt won in the ring to get sold i understand if money is tight or think its no value for a family

they guy must of fallen out with the sport and feels no longer value s the belt

I hate it, it looks horrible and dated, it's only value is resale that's why I would buy it, but I wouldnt pay more than 2k as it's simply ugly.
Belts for for turntables & trousers and the Lonsdale one isnt of any use for either.
