Leapai would get beat badly, this would be a total mis-match. Alex is like a bit of a headless chicken who just swings wildly, he'd have to get lucky and catch Fury with a roundhouse. Excellent post on all of your points, the last line sums Alex up for me from what i've seen anyway.

everybody knows alex lacks a little in skill, but if derek can hurt him, alex clearly can make this guy nervous for some time.

Leapai. I was living in Oz for 5 years and I think in terms of aussie HW's, Leapai (together with Kali) is a top shelf heavyweight. I think the way he dealt with Walker was professional and clinical. However, as much as I like Alex as a fighter I would have grave reservations about putting him in with Tyson, and I would be grave reservations for putting Tyson against Alex.

Alex is a powerhouse, he has a big clubbing right which could put any HW on the planet on the back foot. But unfortunately I feel that his one dimesional plan would not work with Tyson. Tyson would keep him on the outside and nullify if Alex came in. As much as I respect Alex, he will fight anyone anywhere and is a true warrior, I think He should start looking at coming here or the US in search of better opportunities.

As someone has mentioned on this thread, it just does'nt make sense for Tyson to take on someone reletively unknown in this country.

I would love to see Leapai come over here to mix it with the other British HW's, I would like to see him perhaps coming here to compete in the next HW international prizefighter, that would get his name out there.

Good fight. People are writing Leapai off as a world-level heavyweight, but that's not the point. He's a very solid Commonwealth-level opponent and I'm sure he'd ask Fury a few questions and may even pose a danger, given that another short heavy in Chisora had his moments.

Just watched the fight it was a crappy stoppage. Leapai was knackered and only hitting arms when the ref stepped in. He is a fun fighter tho, I agree he would he perfect for prizefighter.

Chisora-Leapai or Big Larry-Leapai would be better while they lasted this would be a stinker with Leapai swinging wildly (and missing) and then gassing around round 4-5. More people have a prediliction for 6/7 good rounds of action than for 12 rounds of average action, so it won't be a problem if a high pace can't be sustained over most of the scheduled rounds.

I think it would be like Chisora-fury for 4 rounds and then Leapai gases. That's why I said stinker with Fury slapping his way to an easy victory. Leapai is in exciting fights because he can't box. It will never happen so it's purely a hypothetical fight. There's alot better hypothetical fights out there than this.

I don't think there are many better fights for Fury at the Commonwealth level. Leapai is a top 40 fighter in world terms and he would probably be good for several rounds of competitive, entertaining action. The same can't be said about most heavyweights in the Commonwealth, as long as world class operators are excluded.

I highly doubt the fight happens anyway, and to be honest I would rather see Leapai-Meehan, which has a better chance of coming to fruition.

Leapai is closer in the ratings to Fury than Pajkic, who Fury is defending against next month.

On 21 October 2011 he left Orlov laid out like 140kgs of whale meat with an uppercut in the fourth round. The referee could have counted to 50.

Why is Pajkic 'much better'? I fail to see any significant gap between them with respect to overall ability or resume.

I'd suggest that Leapai actually has the better names on his resume than Pajkic, although I have no issues with Fury fighting the Canadian champ at this stage in his development. Nice to see a Commonwealth title fight worthy of the name, too often these days it's like a second British title.

Thanks for posting this never watched him fight before. Think the stoppage was premature considering how much damage Leapai shipped before but it was definitely a fun fight to watch! I'd be happy to see him in with Tyson. Get hope this guy can some more exposure and make it happen.
