Wayne Alexander claims to have just been told this, if I've bought bull-shit hook-line and sinker, then I'll take the ensuing stick.
Worth the risk to contemplate the pressers.

mmmm - maybe why the fight is in Ireland? Would Toney get sanctioned in the UK?
Nice bit of match making, I feel Toney has been somewhat a forgotton man in terms of world class opponent. Way back at the start of 2007 he was generally considered the best non-champion heavyweight out there and an avoided man (for the right reasons) - since then he has lost just once, and while he has looked drab and poor since generally keeps ticking the W box.
However, I have big doubts about this one, I saw a picture of Toney about a month ago and he looked in great shape..... was looking like a light heavyweight.

fornicate, dude. You have to stop this shit. It's killing me.

Me too...
Even at this age, and whatever size he comes in at, he'd give Fury a boxing lesson
I'm glad he's looking in good shape though, all the better

Interesting, I was expecting a no name fighter at this late stage. I know Tony is well past his best, but will still be tough and a good scalp should Tyson win.

That's too bad.It would have been an interesting match up, and one Fury could have learned from.Isn't Toney taking on Ken Shamrock soon?

Toney is finished competing at a meaningful level. He is still able to give boxing lessons to club fighters like Damon Reed, but he will struggle with any decent fighter he faces, and his results over the past few years confirm this. He struggled tremendously with Oquendo back in 2008, needing a gift from the judges to emerge victorious (his only result of substance since 2006), and he could only manage a split decision over the mediocre Danny Batchelder a year earlier. Toney's once laudable abilities have declined due to senescence--his reflexes aren't sharp, his hands aren't fast, and his punches aren't carrying the sting they used to--and I don't think that his current capabilities will enable him to put in a winning performance against Fury.

So you don't think that Fury would have more success against Toney than Damon Reed and Danny Batchelder had? I don't think that Toney would score an easy UD over John McDermott or Zack Page.

He would beat Toney on points quite easily.
Toney is a complete joke. Old, fat and slow. He doesn't hit hard enough to stop Damon Reed (no offence, Damon), so he doesn't hit hard enough to stop Fury. He still defensively savy, but that won't be enough to beat Fury.

It's not James Toney.
It's a heavyweight prizefighter winner.

If it wasn't for the fact I think their waiting on a signature from the guy, i'd say it.
But Ch5 and all involved on both sides are reportedly happy with it.
The name I've been told is not Larsen.
