yeah i watched it the other day floyd is a right diva.

I enjoyed that, thanks for posting it.

I like Floyd and i want him to win this fight, so watching the video doesn't sway me in that sense. I like Victor Ortiz a lot, i like his people he works with and he has had a tough life, he comes across as a very nice. I'm not writing this as a defence of Floyd because if you don't like him, then you don't like him........simple as that really and i can understand why at times.

I think that Floyd has a certain persona for the camera's and its created the personality that makes people tune in to watch programes like 24/7 and ive no doubt that some of that personlaity has or does creep into his personal life. However, he had a tough childhood aswell, his father was in prison and his mum on drugs etc, so in no way has it been easy for him.

I think the segment where he ends up arguing with his father is a deep rooted issue that will perhaps never go away and it seems that at the core of it is Floyd Snr trying to claim to much for the skills his son has and of not being there at vital times in Floyd jnr's life. I think floyd jnr had a point when he said that his father was just a pretty poor fighter and that Roger Mayweather was the fighter to be respected and has been the most important person in developing Floyd jnr's skills sets.

It strikes me that Roger seems a very laid back character, who whilst not setting the fight world on fire, was a welterweight champion of the world, where as Floyd Senior seems to live off the back of both of them, especially Floyd Jnr. Floyd Snr didn't achive anything in the ring, but he flounces around like he did and acts as if his boxing knowledge is a gift to the sport. I'm sure that he did have some development in his son's style and training methods, but as a pro fighter its roger who has guided Floyd jnr.

personally i think its better for boxing if floyd wins. Floyds still the big draw and i dont want to see him beaten until either ricky hatton comes out of retirement, khan steps up to WW and fights him, or floyd finally fights pac lol.

just same old same old from the mayweather's.

ortiz is an average opponent i think.

1 world title win and he gets put straight in with floyd.

if goldenboy gave a sh1t they wouldn't be rushing him in this quick.

The face-off show is really good as well. I like that format of getting the two fighters to sit down at the table and express their opinions in front of each other. Hopkins-Pascal was the best one yet. They both got pretty irrate.

On 24/7 Mayweather sometimes comes across as a decent guy but then there is always a scene where you see how much of a prick he is. Would love Ortiz to win this fight but I'm not sure the boxing fan in me could bare to see the possibility of a Mayweather-Pacquiao fight disappear.

Anyone catch episode 2? I'll be controversial here and say i think Floyds probably a decent bloke, he just switches all the crap on for the cameras. Either way gotta admire his work ethic, 3 sessions in one day is pretty brutal.

Ortiz seems a great guy, hard not to root for him but really cant see him winning this one. In fact i dont think he'll even get close.

24/7 is quality tho.

Is it a brilliant doc? Its exactly the same old rubbish from Mayweather again - ever since 24/7 started mayweathers segments have been exactly the same. The rehearsed pad work, the same sound bites, the fractured relationship.

We are not mugs, we are true fans and we deserve more of an insight - not closed sparring! Sky need to find their own style rather than poorly ripping off 24/7. They need to be more innovative, less glitzy and more insightful give us a real look into the fighters lives and training and steer away from the cliches and tacky camera shots.

The showtime one was very good too for super 6, much closer to the fighters and less glitzy like you say. Not sure if they did any more after the early ones, cant even remember what it was called in fact, was top tv tho.

Compared to Sky's stuff it's brilliant. HBO's production values are just about the best in the world. You can tell their promos and docs are made by real talent, while Sky's stuff ( so far ) looks like it was put together by two blokes in a pub car park.

Floyd's shtick IS boring, but if he insists on coming out with the same old charmless stuff, what can you do?
His dad and uncle are something else - one sounds drunk and the other sounds punchdrunk.

The Otriz story was handled brilliantly in the 20 miutes or so they gave it.

It just seemed to me he was taking shots bitterly at his Dad ..with regards to Hatton they were always the polar opposite as people and on technique.

Its a bit too mainstream for me, but I agree the production clearly has a lot of moey poured into it. I think they do tend to overplay and over dramatise things though. Fight Camp 360 is more to my liking and personally I think Showtime have done an excellent job.
